Theme, Audio + Symbols
Released originally in May 2010, the Thunderstruck 2 slot game has a Norse mythology theme as you head to Asgard’s realm. Based on the hammer-wielding god Thor who is associated (according to Wikipedia) with lightning, thunder, storms and strength amongst other things, you’ll encounter other Norse gods.
Despite being remastered by Microgaming/Games Global in December 2020, the imagery is true to the original game and not as high-definition as newer releases. Faster and with sharper animations, the first thing you’ll notice is the soundtrack which could easily feature in a Netflix series or blockbuster film. It’s epic, powerful and fit for any Norse god.
On the reels, you’ll encounter A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 low-value symbols. The higher-value ones include a Viking longship, Valhalla and Norse gods Valkyrie, Loki, Odin and, of course, Thor. The Thor symbol pays the most awarding 16.67 times your total bet for 5 in combination.
Thunderstruck 2 comes with a Wild symbol that substitutes for all the paying symbols above. Doubling your win when part of a winning combination, 5 Wilds will pay 33.33 times your total bet. Then you have the Thor’s Hammer Scatter (known as the Mjolnir) which is key to triggering the free spins. It also pays up to 200 times your total bet. Below is a list of symbol payouts and functions:
