Avalanche          

When a winning combination is formed, by landing 3 or more matching symbols on successive reels starting from the leftmost reel, the Avalanche feature is triggered. Winning symbols are removed with remaining symbols dropping into the empty positions. New symbols then drop in to give you another chance of winning. Further wins see avalanches continue (as long as you keep forming winning combinations).

Wilds & Wild Queue

At the beginning of every spin, up to 3 Wilds with a random multiplier can appear in the Wild Queue (which appears below the reels). With multiplier values ranging from 1x to 1000x, Wilds that are part of a win are stored in the Wild Queue during an avalanche. Then 1 Wild from the Wild Queue is added to the reels during an avalanche, with the Wild Queue holding up to 10 Wilds. If another Wild is added, it’s multiplier value is added to the 10^th Wild multiplier.

xWays

As with many NLC slots, there are xWays symbols that hold 2 to 4 of the same symbol inside with all xWays symbols revealing the same symbol. They increase the number of ways to win as well as increase your chances of landing a winning outcome.

Crew Call

The Crew Call symbol adds 3 Wilds with random multipliers from 1x to 1000x to the Wild Queue. Removed after triggering, it allows a new symbol to fall in.

Fraternal Kiss

The Fraternal Kiss feature triggers when there are no more avalanches and at least 1 Wild appear on the reels or in the Wild Queue. When triggered, all regular paying symbols and Wilds on the reels and in the Wild Queue are removed. Also, a Wild with the sum of all removed Wild multipliers is added to the reels.

Enhancer Train and Enhancers

Above the reels is an Enhancer Train, which shifts 1 position left with every avalanche. Enhancers are triggered only when a Wild appears on the same reel under them. Enhancers include:

• Wild Adder: Triggers if there is a Wild in the Wild Queue. It moves the Wild from the Wild Queue and positions it randomly on the reels. The amount of Wilds moved from the Wild Queue is the same as the number of Wilds present on the same reel.
• Multiplier: Revealing a value of 2x, 3x or 10x, the revealed multiplier is added to the mutliplier value of each Wild present on the same reel.
• Wild Cloner: It adds a new Wild to the queue with the same multiplier value as the Wild appearing below it on the same reel, for each Wild present on that reel.

Free Spins features

Punk Rocker 3 comes with 3 free spins features, triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 Bonus Scatters. The Enhancer Train can also reveal a +1 Spin Enhancer: it rewards you with an extra free spin for each Wild present on the same reel.

Blitzkreig Spins

The Blitzkreig Spins feature is played by landing 3 Bonus Scatters. With 6 free spins awarded, all Wilds on the reels are stored in the Wild Queue at the end of each free spin, including the spin in which the feature was triggered. 1 Wild from the Wild Queue is moved to the reels on each free spin.

Die Wende Spins

4 Bonus Scatters during a base game spin triggers the Die Wende Spins feature, with 8 free spins. Like the Blitzkreig Spins feature, there is the possibility of the xQuake Enhancer symbol appearing in the Enhancer Train.

The xQuake Enhancer triggers only once, regardless of the number of Wilds present on the reels. It splits 1 paying symbol into 2, 3 or 4 but not on reels where an xWays is or an already split symbol.

Mauerfall Spins

Finally, 5 Bonus Scatters appearing during a base game spin will activate the Mauerfall Spins feature, with 10 free spins. Offering the same Enhancers as the Die Wende Spin feature, there is a possibility of the Mega Multiplier symbol appearing in the Enhancer Train.

The Mega Multiplier Enhancer reveals a multiplier between 50x and 1000x: the revealed multiplier is added to the multiplier value of each Wild appearing on the same reel. It becomes inactive once triggered.

Extra Spin

Available in more newer Nolimit City games, there is an Extra Spin feature. Giving you the opportunity to purchase an extra spin when a spin ends, all Wilds on the reels are stored in the Wild Queue. All symbols, except Bonus Scatters, are removed with new symbols dropping in. The Wild from the Wild Queue is moved to the reels.

With the Enhancer Train shifting 1 position left, the cost of the Extra Spin is calculated based on the Wilds present in the Wild Queue and the reels. The Extra Spin is only available if the cost if less than or equal to the total win.

Nolimit Booster

As always, there is a Nolimit Booster feature where you have 4 options:

• Bonus Booster: Costing 3 x bet, you are guaranteed a Bonus Scatter on reel 2. The RTP is 96.05%.

Punk Rocker 3 introduces new mechanics and concepts with NLC removing Jumping Wilds to offer a new experience that can lead to 19,089 x bet max wins.

Whilst the visuals in the Punk Rocker 3 slot are similar to its predecessors, the gameplay is different. Nolimit City has added both the Enhancer Train and Wild Queue (appearing above and below the reels, respectively).

With xWays increasing the number of ways to win (nothing new here), up to 3 Wilds with multipliers up to 1000x appear in the Wild Queue: wilds that are part of a win are stored in the Wild Queue with 1 Wild added to the reels during an avalanche. The Crew Call adds 3 Wilds with multipliers to the Wild Queue whilst the Fraternal Kiss sees a Wild with the sum of all removed Wild multipliers added to the reels. This is where I saw the biggest wins in the base game.

Then you have the Enhancer Train and Enhancers. With Enhancers triggered when a Wild appears on the same reel under it, it adds Wilds to the reels, adds multipliers up to 10x to every Wild on the same reel and adds new Wilds to the Wild Queue.

With 3 free spins features, Nolimit City has removed the popular Jumping Wilds. To compensate, NLC has added more Enhancers including a splitting xQuake Enhancer and Mega Multiplier Enhancer that adds a multiplier up to 1000x to every Wild appearing on the same reel.

With 19,089 x bet max wins, the number correspond to the fall of the Berlin Wall (known as Mauerfall in German). It’s more than the 15,072 x bet max win potential in Punk Rocker but significantly less than the 30,144 x bet max win potential in Punk Rocker 2.

With Punk Rocker proving a pivotal release for Nolimit City, there was always pressure for Punk Rocker 3 to build on its predecessors. Moving in a different direction, it offers a different experience which will split fans of the original games.

I personally quite like the new mechanics and bonus features but incorporating Jumping Wilds with a higher max win potential would have been the ideal scenario. At the end of the day, us slot players are creatures of habit and the removal of Jumping Wilds will be the deciding factor for many of us.
