With a crime theme, the Iron Bank 2 slot is the sequel to Iron Bank (released in November 2020). Set in Cuba, you join the Jaguar again in a heist with more hustle.

The setting is almost identical to the original game as you head to typical Cuban street. With the Jaguar perched on a classic car to the side of the reels, you’ll see palm trees, blue skies and the bank in the backdrop. The soundtrack is Cuban but rather understated in the base game.

Dual Base feature

Randomly triggered in the base game, you can choose 1 of 2 base game features:

Multiplier Collect Free Spins

Beginning with 7 free spins, reels 2-5 are special reels which contain coconut symbols and progressive multiplier wilds. Coconut crates landing contribute 1-4 coconuts toward the coconut shooter above each reel (2-5). Only 1 coconut crate can land per reel on each free spin.

Every 3 coconuts collected increase the multiplier associated to that reel’s wild symbol. The wild’s multiplier value will be displayed on top of the reel and on the wild symbol. Wins involving several wilds are multiplied by each of the multiplier values. A multiplier wild functions like a stack of as many wilds as the multiplier value. When a coconut gun accumulates 3 coconuts and fills its space, you’ll win 1 extra free spin and a win multiplier increase of 1.

• Super Multiplier Collect: with 7 free spins awarded, you are guaranteed 1 Wild Reel on the first free spin, with a multiplier applied from the reel the wild lands on. The Wild Reel moves on reels 2-4 only.

Mystery Symbol Free Spins

Beginning with 6 free spins, a symbol is randomly chosen to act as the persistent mystery symbol. When it lands on reels 2-6, it becomes and becomes sticky and transforms to a persistent mystery symbol. All mystery symbols transform to the same symbol after each free spin. Collecting 6 mystery symbols will give you 2 extra free spins. You’ll get 2 more free spins for every 4 mystery symbols collected after the initial 6.

Expanding Wilds Free Spins

Beginning with 6 free spins, wilds landing on reels 3 and 4 expand and award a re-spin. The wild multiplier increases by 1 every time a win is formed that includes the wild reel. Re-spins continue as long as winning combinations are formed or if a second wild lands on reels 3 or 4. Wins including both wild reels are multiplied by both multipliers indicated on the wild reels. Multipliers begin at 1x and don’t reset during the feature.

With the Iron Bank 2 slot being a sequel, there is some pressure to deliver a better game than the original. With Iron Bank being one of Relax Gaming’s most popular titles, I can safely say Relax has done a great job with the second instalment.

Adding 2 randomly activated base game features offering transforming mystery symbols and up to 4 Wild Multiplier Reels, Iron Bank 2 surpasses its predecessor in the free spins. Keeping things as close as possible to the original, the addition of the Super and Ultra versions of each free spins mode is what sets Iron Bank 2 apart from the first outing.

I naturally leaned towards the Expanding Wilds free spins where you can get plenty of re-spins as long as wins are formed. However, I found the Multiplier Collect free spins to be the most lucrative: coconuts collected increase the reel’s multiplier and I won many extra free spins which resulted in wins of over 6,100 x my total bet.

With 50,000 x bet max wins, Iron Bank 2’s win potential isn’t much higher than in the first game (49,998.9 x bet) but the excitement is ramped up due to the Super and Ultra variations to the free spins modes. All in all, it shares the same wild energy and attitude but is much more engaging and offers much more hustle.
