OK, so, let's stick with the 100 spin test for now. It felt like I had robbed the bank on his occasion, the win were super frequent hitting 38 winning spins in the 100 test, and they paid well, with two big base game wins, the highest returning a 22.66x. 

The bonus 15 free spins landed on the 69th spin and that surpassed the base game win, returning a very nice 44.16x bonus round, despite only getting one major symbol wild.

The overall session RTP was a very impressive 124.8%, which is nice on IGT being as they are traditionally lower RTP games.

So the spin test was great, the game? well Jenny has done an excellent review, for me, I feel it's about 8 years out of date already despite being a relatively new release.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

The graphics and sounds are a huge selling point of the game, they are top-quality images which sets the scene well. 

The base game background image shows a vast bank vault filled with treasures such as bank notes, expensive jewellery and even the Mona Lisa. There are even some security and alarm images thrown in to set the vibe.

The order of value regarding the reel images goes like this, the highest value is the Female Thief. She is followed by the Male Thief Symbol, the Security Guard Symbol and lastly the Banker Symbol. These are then followed by the lower-value symbols of the Ace, King, Queen, Jack & 10. Again the style of imagery the designer has used is stylish with vibrant colours.

The music is high quality and sounds like the theme music from a Hollywood action movie so it all ties in together fantastically.

Theme – Bank robbery

You’ll figure out from the title that it’s related to a heist of some description. The ice part of the title relates to diamonds which are a feature of the Bonus game and also appear in the bank’s vault of treasures. 

The two stars of the show are geared up in sleek, almost superhero outfits, probably to make their escape more seamless. The supporting cast members are a security guard and a bank manager who appear on the reels. In addition, there’s also the usual K, Q, J & 10.

There are two special symbols available; a Bonus Symbol represented by a safe stuffed with wads of cash and a Wild Symbol depicting two shiny gold bars.

This is another 5-reel slot with 3 rows per reel.

Play Experience & First Impression

I loved the look and feel of this game, it felt modern and entertaining and it’s definitely at the high end of the scale when it comes to design. 

It’s a straightforward game and follows the popular formula of a base game plus an exciting bonus round. The paytable and game rules are clear if you need further information when playing which helps.

The bonus game definitely keeps things compelling. I enjoyed the Wild Symbol feature of the bonus round as it adds another layer of interest.

The Free Spins Bonus round was the highlight of the game, the format of triggering 15 Free Spins works well and the Wilds are a great feature that I've already mentioned.

The max bet is huge at £300 which is great if that’s the kind of features you’re looking for in a slot game.

The negatives are the fact that the max win is low at only x 1,000 which is much lower than many of the slots I've reviewed recently which are more along the lines of x10,000 or x15,000. RTP is also pretty low in comparison to other slot games available although at least it’s a medium volatility game which helps things along.

However, for the design and the bonus round game, I’d definitely recommend giving the Ice Heist slot a spin, hey maybe, you’ll loot your way to big wins.
