Overview
Here at OLBG HQ, we're always enthusiastic about a new Nolimit City release, so let's see if Brick Snake 2000 is going to be another hit with the online slot sites. The gameplay takes place on a 5x5 grid with 3,125 pay lines. Like pretty much all Nolimit City games, it has a very high volatility rating and a slightly above-average RTP of 96.03%.
A big element of the game is watching the Sneks, i.e. snakes, slithering around the grid, munching on symbols during the bonus rounds. If they eat a Coin symbol, the value is added to the win. Slayer symbols are sticky, and if a Snek eats one, it dies. Eating an Egg symbol means a new Snek hatches, and eating a Multiplier symbol means the multiplier is increased. So watch out for those symbols.
If Brick Snake 2000 is pulling you in, keep reading as we're going to find out about all aspects of this brand-new slot game. OLBG is a go-to resource for any demo slots you want to try.

Brick Snake 2000 Expert Review
Game Data
Snake - the famous mobile game was around in the late 1990s - early 2000s. Maybe you've heard of it? Or maybe you used to play it yourself? I fall into the latter category and I LOVED it. It must have fallen into a hole at the back of my mind as I’d completely forgotten about it until I launched Brick Snake 2000. The game looks basic by today's standards but it was a great way of whiling away some time in the early noughties. It’s a brilliant idea to turn it into a slot game.
In addition to the Sneks munching on symbols, there is also the 'Double or Nothing’ feature if you win the max win amount of 8,110x. Here, you have the chance of doubling the amount to 16,220x or losing it completely. Or, of course, you can just decide to just keep it.
Right. Let’s delve into the rest of the details of this retro snake game.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects
The Graphics are 10/10 as always and are pixilated to give a retro 1990s feel. The Nokia ringtone features heavily in the music, which again, is a blast from the past. Other mobile sounds from the late 90s/early noughties also feature.
During the base game, an upbeat ditty plays while you play. The music then proceeds to a samba tune during Snek Spins. And like all NLC games, the tempo goes up 100 mph during the Super Snek Spins. Here, you play against an accelerated techno tune named Brick Snake 2000.
Key Features
Now that I've written about the summary, intro, graphics, music, and sound effects, I'll discuss the key game features next.
The slot games reviews we write on OLBG include up-to-date information about all of the important features, such as the theme, paylines and reels, bet range, and bonuses. I’ll complete the review by sharing my play experience, first impressions, and expert verdict.
Theme – Retro
As always with NLC games, the theme is the ace up the sleeve. A huge amount of thought goes into the strong storylines, characters, visuals, and sounds. This gives an immersive slot experience like no other. Here, the pixilated slot scene drags you into the year 2000. Where you listen to your favourite albums on CD, you feed your virtual Tamagotchi and you text your mates on your chunky Nokia phone. There are all sorts of nostalgic bits and bobs in the background when playing the bonus rounds, such as a heart necklace cut in two, to to give to your chosen loved one.
The grid takes place on the cracked screen of a Nokia…oops, I mean Nokyou phone. One of the miserable workers from the Nine To Five game has been transferred to this game and he's the highest-value symbol. He’s followed by a cat, a dog, and a ghost. Next on the reels are a Tamagotchi, CD, drill, and a SIM card. The Scatter symbol is an S, which looks like the notification of a new email icon. When triggered, you can see the icon freeze in multiple places across your screen. This is due to the rubbish dial-up internet, which was a familiar sight back then, unfortunately.
Reels
You play on a grid with 5 reels by 5 rows for the Brick Snake 2000 slot game.
Paylines
The Brick Snake 2000 slot game has 3,125 paylines on the grid.
RTP
You’ll see the acronym RTP on all slot sites out there and and it stands for 'return to player.' It’s a way of theoretically telling players what percentage of their stakes will be returned to them over the long term. The larger the RTP rate, the better. I’d expect to see RTP rates around 96% nowadays. The Brick Snake 2000 slot game is 96.03% which is ever-so slightly above average.
Nolimit City, like most providers, uses the RTP as a default value so you’ll find different RTP rates across various operator sites. We’ve identified a few different rates at some of the top UK online casinos and added them to the table below for you.
RTP is just one factor to think about when deciding which site to play at. Other considerations include the number of games, customer services, options for payment choices and welcome bonuses and deals. You can read about all of these factors plus many more when you read our OLBG casino reviews.

Stake Range
The Brick Snake 2000 game has a wider bet range for this game which starts at £0.20 and goes right up to £280.
Max Win
The max win amount for the Brick Snake 2000 game is 8,110x your bet. Within this NLC has an included an extra feature called ‘Double or Nothing.' When the total win exceeds 8,110x you will see a message about Double or Nothing. Here you then get an option to click on Yes or No. If you click on Yes the 8,110x bet amount will either be doubled to 16,220x or lost completely. If you click on No, the winnings will be kept as normal.
Wild Symbol
The Wild Snek symbol depicts the Wild. This symbol can land anywhere on reels in the base game. It always moves 1-5 steps in any direction except backward, and those positions will then turn into Wilds. When a Wild Snek symbol moves on the revealed xWays symbol, that position will have a Wild symbol of the xWays revealed size.
Free Spins
The first free spins bonus round is called Snek Spins, and landing 3 or 4 Scatters will trigger this round. The 3rd and 4th Scatter (if any) will convert to Snek symbols.
During this bonus round, the following features can trigger:
- Coin symbol - Default coin values: are 1-5, 10 and 100. If a Snek eats a coin, its value is added to the win. All coin values are valued as times the active bet.
- Multiplier symbol - Multiplier values are between 1-5 and 10. If a Snek eats a multiplier, the coin multiplier is increased and applied to the default coin values.
- Snek - the Snek can move in any direction, except backwards. If there are multiple Sneks, they move one at a time, starting with the oldest Snek. If a Snek moves outside the reel area, it will continue on the corresponding side. A Snek keeps moving until it eats itself or a Slayer symbol. If the Snek eats itself, it stops for that spin. On eating itself, the Snek symbol starts from one position before its killing point for the next spin. Spin ends when all Sneks stop. If all Sneks die, the round ends.
- Slayer symbol - these symbols are sticky, there can be, at the most, 4 of them at the same time. If a Snek eats a Slayer symbol, the Snek dies and will not be present for the next spin.
- Egg symbol - If a Snek eats an egg, a new Snek head will start moving from the tail position of Sneks that eats the egg. At most, 3 Sneks can be present at the same time.
- MaxWin coin symbol- If a Snek eats a MAXWIN coin symbol, 8,110x the bet is awarded to you. If the Max Win symbol is not eaten it will disappear after 4 Snek steps.
If a Snek eats an UP symbol, Snek Spins will be upgraded to Super Snek Spins after the existing round is completed.
Super Snek Spins is the second free spins bonus round, you enter it by landing 5 Scatters. The 3rd and 4th Scatter symbols convert to Sneks.
During this round, the Collector 2000 symbol can appear. The Collector 2000 symbol adds the sum of all the visible coin values to its current value at the beginning of each spin. If a Snek symbol eats the Collector 2000 symbol, the value of the symbol is added to the coin value counter. Once the coin value counter is updated, the win multiplier at the time of consumption of the Collector 2000 is multiplied by the value of the Collector 2000 symbol.
If Snek doesn't eat the Collector 2000 symbol within 4 steps, it will disappear for that spin. Regardless of what happens, the Collector 2000 symbol will show up in the next spin.
Play Experience & First Impressions
Like most NLC titles, I didn't know what to expect with this game. However, introducing the Snake game to the 2020s is an excellent idea! The studio has nailed the pixilated imagery and memorable mementos from the 90s/early noughties. The Free Spins rounds were bags of fun. The snakes…sorry, Sneks—looked superb on the grid. And it was fun and, importantly, straightforward watching them munch their way around the reels. The symbols covered different types of slot features and the Multipliers and Phone symbols made a real impact on the screen.
The famous xWays feature also makes an appearance. The xWays symbols can land on any reel. When revealed, it normally shows normal paying symbols of size 2-5 or 8,110 of the same kind. If there is more than one xWays symbol, then all xWays symbols will reveal the same symbol.
All-in-all it was a spectacular slots experience.
Expert Verdict
Whether you were around in the year 2000 and understand the references or not, you’ll enjoy this game as it is highly entertaining. The ever-winning combination of strong features + captivating theme make it as appealing as salt and vinegar or bacon and eggs - you get the picture right?
It’s easy to follow which makes the features more enjoyable as some of NLC’s games have been too complicated in recent months. The bet range is higher than usual, coming in at £280. And the max win is lower although they've added the Double or Nothing feature which is an extra element. Its RTP at 96.03% is on the lower side but all of the recent games have been around this point, the average of the last 10 games is 96.07%
Brick Snake 2000 has the retro feel of Nine To Five or Space Donkey both of which were top games. We have written an article about all of Nolimit City's games where you can find out anything you need to know about this exceptional studio.
I’d highly recommend this game, NLC is continuing its winning trend of producing extraordinary titles. I seem to love them all. In fact, it would be easier to quicker with the games I don't like which so far, is the grand total of… zero.
