Big Bass Xmas Xtreme Slot
The 21st game in this fishing-themed series offers a 96.07% RTP and 10,000 x bet max wins. The Free Spins feature includes a picker with modifiers, plus a meter you climb to trigger up to 50x Fish Money multiplier.
When I saw Big Bass Xmas Xtreme on my list of slot games to review, I’ll admit, my first thought was, “Surely not another one?” I’m not the biggest fan of this series, but it’s clear that many players are—there must be a reason these games keep coming. So if you're one of those fans, consider Big Bass Xmas Xtreme an early Christmas present.
It hasn’t been long since the release of Big Bass Halloween, which earned a 3.5 out of 5 from the OLBG team. This is definitely the season for themed slots! As I mentioned earlier in the review, Big Bass Xmas Xtreme is essentially a reskin of Big Bass Amazon Xtreme one of the most Pragmatic Play’s most popular games in the series. We gave that one a 4.3 out of 5, a rating as it was a hit with players.
With an RTP of 96.07%, the Big Bass Xmas Xtreme slot is still above average, though it has the second-lowest RTP of all the Big Bass games, just slightly higher than Big Bass Halloween. However, it compensates with a max win of 10,000 x your bet, tying for the second-highest max win in the series, alongside Big Bass Hold and Spinner, Big Bass Amazon Xtreme and Big Bass Day at The Races.
One of our most popular OLBG slot guides is the Big Bass slot series which is stuffed with plenty of useful information about the entire library of games.
There are less Christmas elements than I expected which could be bad or good depending on your point of view but the Ho! Ho! Ho! element is discreet. Personally, I prefer a Christmas game to be all guns blazing with presents, bright lights, decorations and Santa.
As for gameplay, it sticks to familiar territory with classic Big Bass features like the Money Symbol. This symbol triggers randomly, allowing you to collect all visible Money Symbol values, which can go up to 1,000x your bet.
The Free Spins feature adds a bit more excitement. If only two scatters land, you still have a chance to land a third—something that’s always a nice touch in Big Bass games. There are a couple of random features that can trigger during Free Spins, and I particularly liked the one where a narwhal (yes, I had to Google that—it’s a whale with a long, thin tusk) can appear on the screen and transform symbols into scatters.
The pick-a-modifier feature is fun, too. Combining modifiers like extra free spins and guaranteed fish can lead to some decent wins. And climbing the meter by collecting Fisherman Wilds is always exciting. Reaching level 8 gets you a 50x multiplier, which is one of the game’s bigger highlights.
Overall, while Big Bass Xmas Xtreme doesn’t break new ground, its colourful design and familiar features will likely appeal to fans of the series. We’re giving it a solid 3.8 out of 5.
