20+ years reviewing 10,000+ slots, breaking down games honestly to help you make smarter choices and have fun.
Wicked Games describes themselves as the ‘most dangerous studio’ in iGaming. Not here to make up the numbers and blend in, they are an independent studio ‘built for players who are tired of the same old slots’. With the launch of the controversial Transformers in June 2025, the world took notice.
Not yet available yet to play for real money at UK slot sites, the exclusive Q&A-style interview is with Wicked Games’ Head of Brand, Karl von Brockdorff. Karl discusses about Wicked Games’ journey to date, how new slot games are created, their most popular titles, mobile play, the controversial Transformers, the upcoming Big Black Cock slot and when you can expect to play their games for real money in the UK.
Q: Can you tell us a little about Wicked Games and the journey since it was founded?
KvB: “Wicked Games was founded with a clear intention: build a studio with a defined identity in a market where many releases feel interchangeable.
Our core brand DNA is bold, expressive and a little provocative, and that’s most visible in our Signature titles. Those are the games where we lean fully into personality and production scale.
At the same time, we operate in a broad market. Not every player is looking for high-concept or boundary-pushing themes. That’s why our portfolio is structured across Signature, Core and Classic tiers. Some games carry strong brand expression. Others focus more on clean mechanics and familiar formats that players trust, with a wicked twist.
The journey so far has been about building that balance: establishing a recognisable identity while still delivering commercially solid games across different player preferences.
We’re still early in our story, but the direction is clear.”
Q: How are new slot games created? What’s the process?
KvB: “There are generally two starting points.
Sometimes it’s theme-first. Someone brings a concept or name that feels commercially strong or culturally relevant. We pitch it internally, challenge it with the core team, and explore which mechanics would genuinely elevate that theme rather than dilute it.
Other times it’s mechanic-first. The math or product team develops a feature they believe has strong potential, often informed by how similar mechanics have performed historically. We then build a theme around it that gives it personality and market traction.
Once a concept passes that internal stress test, we decide where it sits within our production line. A Signature title carries very different expectations compared to a Core or Classic release. The production level affects art depth, animation quality, feature complexity, math modelling, development time, and marketing scale.
Some Signature titles can take multiples longer to produce than a classic or core game. Each tier has a clear purpose, and the idea has to justify the level of investment it enters.”
Q: How was the popularity of mobile play influenced your design?
KvB: “Mobile has fundamentally changed how games are designed. In most regulated markets, it is now the primary device.
We design mobile-first. That means clear interfaces, strong visual hierarchy, and mechanics that can be understood within seconds. If a feature needs too much explanation, it will struggle on a smaller screen.
Screen space is limited, so information has to be prioritised. Buttons need to sit naturally within thumb reach, animations need impact without slowing gameplay, and feature prompts need to be immediate and easy to follow.
Desktop still matters, but mobile is where the majority of play happens, so the experience has to feel intuitive and frictionless from the first spin.”
Q: What are Wicked Games’ most popular slot games?
KvB: “Right now, Transformers and Fawkes have performed very strongly across our partner network.
Transformers has obvious click potential because of its theme, but it’s backed by a strong and well-balanced math model. The attention gets players in, but the gameplay keeps them there.
Fawkes is different. It may appear more traditional at first glance, but it’s built on a feature-rich foundation. The combination of ante bet options and multiple bonus buy configurations gives it flexibility and makes it popular for different player preferences.
And without a doubt, Big Black Cock is shaping up to be our biggest Signature release yet. The early traction from operators and players has been extremely encouraging.”
Q: Transformers was a controversial game: did you face much backlash and how has the game performed?

KvB: “Whenever you touch on cultural themes, there will be reactions. That’s inevitable.
There has been criticism, and there still is. That in itself shows the game struck a nerve and generated attention. In entertainment, indifference is usually the bigger risk.
From a performance perspective, Transformers has done extremely well. The theme drives curiosity and click-through, but it’s the mechanics and math model that sustain engagement.
Controversy might bring players in once. It does not keep them there. The fact that the game continues to perform is what ultimately matters.”
Q: Regarding Big Black Cock, can you explain the mechanics behind the game?

KvB: “Big Black Cock is built around extremely strong base gameplay, particularly when using the ante bet options.
One of the standout modes is Chef’s Choice, which triggers the Frontal Assault wild modifier on every single spin. That means full reel wilds, scattered wilds or clustered wilds can land constantly, creating very high-impact gameplay from the base game alone.
The Deep Insertion bonus feature adds another layer. It begins with a pre-round where you collect free spins and build your starting multiplier before entering the main bonus. During the bonus, Frontal Assault is triggered on every spin, keeping the action consistent and intense.
There is also a Final Release meter that charges during the round. When activated, it can drop a 2x2, 3x3 or even a 4x4 wild cluster onto the reels for one large final spin.
Combined with 25,000 x bet max win potential, it is designed to be high-volatility, high-impact and highly entertaining throughout. It’s a great addition to our Signature portfolio.”
Q: What else can we expect from Wicked Games in 2026?
KvB: “2026 is a scaling year for us.
We have three more Signature releases planned, all at the same production level as Big Black Cock, alongside around 20 additional titles across our Core and Classic lines. The goal is to increase output without compromising identity or production standards.
We will also be building out our Crash game team as we look to diversify our product offering further. Expanding beyond slots allows us to broaden our reach while applying the same creative discipline and production mindset.”
Q: Do you plan to get a licensed from the UK Gambling Commission? If so, when do you expect your slots to be available in the UK?
"Our aim is to secure a UK Gambling Commission licence and make our games available there from 2027"
KvB: “We are currently in the process of obtaining licences in Sweden, Romania, Greece and the UAE, all of which are progressing well.
The UK is firmly on our roadmap. It is a major regulated market and one we take seriously. Our aim is to secure a UK Gambling Commission licence and make our games available there from 2027.
We are taking a structured, jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction approach to expansion. Compliance and long-term positioning matter more to us than rushing entry.”
Q: What other slot providers/game has inspired Wicked Games?
KvB: “We are a diverse team, so inspiration naturally varies across departments.
Studios like Hacksaw Gaming and Nolimit City have clearly built strong identities in the market. They are examples of studios that commit to a tone and push it consistently.
We are also big fans of Relax Gaming, particularly titles like Money Train and Beast Mode, which combine clear mechanics with strong commercial performance.
Ultimately, we respect studios that are not afraid to take creative risks while still delivering mechanically sound games. That balance is what we aim for ourselves.”
