Reports of a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie have picked up in recent weeks and with it sees gossip around the potential return of Johnny Depp to the franchise after personal life controversy.
It's been expected that Depp would not return to the franchise after Disney dropped him following his legal battle with Amber Heard but more recently there have been rumours that he will put that behind him.
Depp was supposedly furious that Disney have dropped him from the movie series and since doing that there has been no further Pirates release, but now a source told People that Depp is "open" to the franchise if the project was right.

Pirates Producer Jerry Bruckheimer openly stated that he wants Depp to return in the role
Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer for the whole Pirates franchise and played a massive part in the success of the films and he has openly spoken about a potential return to the films for Johnny Depp.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Bruckheimer said, "I would love to have him in the movie. He’s a friend, a terrific actor and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do."
This looks like the olive branch has well and truly been offered to Depp and if we were to see another Pirates film take place it looks like we could well see him star in the role once more.
