Odds now given on who will play Britney Spears in The Woman in Me biopic

Betting odds are now given on who will play popstar Britney Spears in the upcoming movie 'The Woman In Me' based on her bestselling memoir of the same name.

Rights for the movie were sold for a reported eight figures earlier this month with Universal Pictures looking to add this movie to their list of successful biopics in the past such as 8 Mile and Straight Outta Compton.

With such a massive film about to be made it's no surprise that betting sites are now offering odds on who will play Britney Spears in the movie with Sabrina Carpenter the early favourite in the market at 4/1.

Carpenter herself is one of the biggest popstars in the world at the moment and broke a UK Chart Record earlier this year according to reports in the BBC.

The Pennsylvania-born singer became the first female artist to hold both the number one and number two positions on the singles chart for three consecutive weeks with Espresso and Please Please Please.

Rights for movie acquired by Universal earlier this month

Reports in The Ankler at the beginning of August spoke about the rights for the memoir being sold with a source saying the deal was worth eight figures.

That deal also included the rights to Britney's music catalog which will be a key part of the movie with her music being so popular around the world.

Universal Pictures beat a competitive list of companies with Brad Pitt's Plan B and Margot Robbie just two of many that were vying for the rights.
