Bookies now offer odds on where Joe Rogan's platform could be after his contract expires
The Joe Rogan Experience is arguably the biggest podcast in the world and bookmakers are now offering odds on where the podcast will be after its expected contract talks this year.
Joe Rogan was one of several big stars that Spotify threw money at back in 2021 when the music platform decided to go big into the world of podcasts.
Rogan is a massive part of Spotify's podcast business with his podcast having a massive audience full of loyal fans who will listen and watch him wherever he may be.
Money is a lot tighter at Spotify than it was three years ago and it may be that the company can't afford to pay Rogan the money that they originally agreed to.
The latest betting odds though say that he will stick with Spotify in his next contract renewal with his loyalty towards the platform clear, previously saying "Spotify has hung in with me inexplicably".
Joe Rogan's Next Podcast Platform | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Spotify (renewal) | 8/13 | 61.9% |
X/Twitter | 3/1 | 25.0% |
4/1 | 20.0% | |
Apple | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Podchaser | 10/1 | 9.1% |
What the expert says..
X the favourite if he was to leave Spotify when his contract ends
The betting favourite at 3/1 if Rogan was to leave Spotify when his contract expires is to move over to X, formerly known as Twitter, on an exclusive basis.
X owner Elon Musk is a long time friend of Rogan and one of the celebrities who has made a guest appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience in the past.
Musk famously smoked weed live on the Joe Rogan Experience back in 2018 in one of the most viral episodes the podcast has ever seen.
Rogan could go back to putting his full podcasts on YouTube once again
The so called golden era of the Joe Rogan Experience came on YouTube with his rise to the biggest podcast in the world coming from the platform.
Rogan's full podcasts used to be available on the platform with the full video's and highlights being available to watch on the famous video sharing site.
Right-wing platform Rumble had reportedly made a $100m podcast deal offer to Rogan last year but he rejected that offer at the time to stay at Spotify according to Variety.
