I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • Hi Mom, Favourite all Year Deposed from Top Spot
  • Battle of Changjin has hit the biggest box-office in the world after October release
  • F9: The Fast Sage Highest Non-Chinese Movie in 3rd spot
  • No Time to Die in 5th but can get higher

Back in September, it looked like the race to have the highest worldwide grossing film was already over with Hi Mom, dominating the charts and the #1 position since release earlier in the year. That said, betting on the top grossing film of the year remained popular with new releases coming thick and fast.

Many other movies were released worldwide including F9: The Fast Saga and Free Guy, but nothing looked like it would challenge the movie at the top of the list.

That was until The Battle at Lake Changjin was released and within one month took more box-office money than any other film for the previous 10 months combined, as a result betting sites are offering only 1/2 odds that it will still be top of the charts at the end of the year.

The Battle of Changjin shot to the head of the chart with £203,000,000 opening box office receipts quickly rising to £859million within the month

The Battle at Lake Changjin is now 66.67% certain of being the biggest box office hit of 2021 worldwide despite not being released until October with over $859m box office sales in the first month of release takes it to the top of the charts.

No Time to Die

The late release of the next James Bond movie, and Daniel Craig's last performance in the role, No Time To Die, was quite a hit by UK and Bond Standards taking $55m in opening receipts, and $606m worldwide to date since its release on October 8th.

That's almost a breakeven figure for the severely delayed release, another $300m and the studio may be able to start celebrating, but in any case, the current 5th position on the worldwide top-grossing film of the year is maybe as high as it will get.

No Time To Die has taken an Impressive $606,000,000 since release on 8th October, and is currently 5th in the top worldwide grossing films of 2021
