Toyah Willcox is the new favourite to be the first celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing

English pop superstar Toyah Willcox is now the 6/5 favourite to be eliminated first on this year's Strictly Come Dancing with bookmakers continuing to offer odds on the latest series.

Toyah finished bottom of the judges leaderboard last week in the opening live show of the series after a Tango that was given just a total of 12 points out of 40.

This has seen bookies swap things around in the market with Toyah now shortening into favourite to be the dreaded first celebrity to leave the show this series.

Bet365's market has Paul Merson behind her in the betting odds with those odds suggesting it'll be the former Arsenal player up against Toyah in the first dance-off of the season this week.

What the expert says...
Toyah Willcox is the favourite to be the first celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing this weekend with bookmakers putting her above Paul Merson in the betting market. This weekend will see the celebs dance for a second time before voting will see one of them eliminated.

Chris McCausland shortened into favourite to win Strictly earlier this week

The opening show of Strictly's 20th season has seen Chris McCausland now become the betting favourite after judges and viewers were impressed by his first dance.

McCausland is the first-ever blind contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and viewers were intrigued about how he would be able to dance on the show, but he and Dianne Buswell smashed it.

Chris and Dianne scored a total of 23 points to sit in around mid-table on the first weekend and they will be dancing a Foxtrot to “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy” by The Tams.
