Betting Sites have installed Kevin Hart as the 5/1 favourite to host the 2025 Oscars ceremony, 6 years on from the actor and comedian stepping down from his 2019 Oscars hosting gig.

Hart was pencilled in to host the 2019 Oscars but 48 hours after agreeing to host the show he stepped down after outcry over previous comments he made on his social media and in his stand-up sets 10 years previous.

Despite Hart telling Sky News that he is "destroying any hope" that people have on him hosting the Oscars in future saying that there is no chance that he'll host the show the betting odds say otherwise with the comic topping the market.

Following behind Hart in the market is comedian Amy Schumer which will be three years on from her last Oscars hosting gig back in 2022 alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall.

Four-time host Jimmy Kimmel turns down the chance of hosting for a fifth year

The Academy Awards are now well in the search for their next host after four-time host Jimmy Kimmel declined the role after presenting the show on back-to-back occasions in 2023 and 2024.

Comedian John Mulaney was expected to step up from his small role that he had at this year's ceremony to be the main presenter but reports say that he also turned down the presenting gig for 2025.

Bob Hope is the record presenter of the Oscars having led the ceremony 19 times, with Billy Crystal second in the most Oscars presented list with a total of 9.

It may well be that we see a fresh face get the hosting gig for the 2025 Oscars with plenty of new names surely wanting the gig, but it says a lot that the first three in the market have been picked before.
