Steven Spielberg's semi-autobiographical movie The Fabelmans is now into odds-on to win Best Picture

The Fabelmans is now into odds-on at 5/6 with bookies to win Best Picture at the 2023 Oscars with the film already released in the United States.

Steven Spielberg directs the movie in what is a semi-autobiography based on Spielberg's younger life growing up in Arizona.

According to the latest odds from Paddy Power, The Fabelmans has a 50% chance of winning Best Picture at next year's Oscars.

Best Picture at the Oscars 2023 Odds Probability
The Fabelmans 5/6 54.5%
Everything Everywhere All At Once
6/4 40.0%
The Banshees of Inisherin 4/1 20.0%
Tar 9/1 10.0%
The latest Steven Spielberg movie The Fabelmans has gone from 4/1 to 5/6 to win the Best Picture award at next year's Oscars. This gives it a 54% chance from 20% it was with bookies earlier this year to win the big prize.

Brendan Fraser is the 1/2 favourite to win Best Actor at the Oscars for The Whale

Brendan Fraser career comeback in The Whale has put him as the outright favourite to win Best Actor at the Oscars next year.

Fraser stars as Charlie in the movie, a man with extreme obesity who struggles to connect with his 17 year old daughter.

Bookies have made Fraser the favourite to win Best Actor and it looks increasingly likely that it'll stay that way going into the nominations period next month.

Best Actor at the Oscars 2023 Odds Probability
Brendan Fraser 1/2 66.7%
Colin Farrell 5/2 28.6%
Austin Butler
7/1 12.5%
Bill Nighy 10/1 9.1%
Christian Bale
12/1 7.7%

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will also appear in the film as Fraser's character's daughter Ellie, with the film released in America last weekend.

We won't see a UK release of the film until February next year.

Brendan Fraser is now 1/2 to win the Best Actor award at the 2023 Oscars after his performance in movie The Whale has continued to receive high praise from film critics.

When will the Oscars be held?

The 2023 Oscars Ceremony is set to be held on March 12th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Nominations for the show will be announced on January 24th and that will be when we start to see hype ramp up for the ceremony.

It's likely there will be references towards Will Smith and Chris Rock after last year's Oscars where Smith attacked Rock on stage.
