I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • Strictly Come Dancing 2/1 to Win yet another NTA for Best Talent Show with Bookies
  • The Masked Singer has 40% chance of Breaking the Strictly Stronghold on the Award according to Betting Sites
  • Strictly rightful betting favourites for an 8th win in the last 9 years
  • 10,000,000 voting public watched Nicola Roberts win the Masked Singer Finale.

NTA's Best Talent Show Betting Odds

Show Odds Probability
Strictly Come Dancing 2.00 50%
The Masked Singer 2.5 40%
Britains Got Talent 11.00 9.09%
RuPaul's Drag Race 15 6.67%

**Probability percentage figures include bookmakers overround - odds correct at 3/9/2021

It would be nice to see another name on the roll call of winners of the talent show category at the NTA's. The betting and 40% chance given by the bookmakers would suggest that The Masked Singer has a real chance of being only the third show to pick up the award since 2006

Strictly Stronghold

Strictly Come Dancing has been an ever-present at the NTA's since the category was added in 2006, as talent shows were beginning to dominate the Entertainment Show category.

Since the award's inception, Strictly has won 8 times to the X-Factors 6, but the dominance has been stronger in recent years with the falling popularity of Simon Cowell's show.

With 7 wins in the last 8 years and total dominance over the last 5, it will be tough to knock the Strictly team off off their pedestal.

No other show has won the award since it was introduced but 2021 provides an opportunity to find a new name on the roll of honour in the Masked Singer

Huge Viewing Figures and Voting Process

The NTA's have two processes for the nominees and winners, with BARB ratings creating the shortlist and public voting deciding upon the award winners. Show popularity with the public and viewing figures do give some insight into the most probable winners.

Strictly Come Dancing is by far the most-watched reality talent show on TV with the final in 2020 viewed by some 12.5 million viewers.

The masked singer has only just hit our screens. The UK version of the South Korean King of Mask Singer, which has proven to be a big hit in the US too has appeared in the betting for this award on its debut.

To hit 10,000,000 viewers in its first season, with Nichola Roberts beating Jason Mamford in the final, there is no doubt The Masked Singer can offer real competition to Strictly Come Dancing in the National TV Awards Talent Show category in 2021.

The Great British Public vote for the winners at the awards, and given the 10 million that tuned in for the Masked Singer finale, we could see only the third different show to have won this award in the last 15 years.
