Danny Dyer's Mick Carter left the show on Christmas Day

Christmas Day's episode of Eastenders is usually a dramatic one and it was no different here during 2022's festive special.

With Janine Carter heading to Dover to escape the police, her car steered off the road and straight off a cliff.

Mick jumped in to save Janine and their unborn baby at Linda's plea and saved her but then went back into the sea to try and save Linda.

Unbeknownst to Mick, Linda was already safe and the show ended with a shot of the sea and Mick presumably dead at sea.

Shirley smashed up Queen Vic after Mick disappeared

Shirley Carter said an emotional goodbye to the Square during the festive period after her son Mick's death left her grieving.

Shirley originally tore The Vic to shreds after finding out that her son was dead and looked to be spiralling out of control.

Linda Henry's character's final scene showed her walking away from the square and it's unclear if she will return to the show.
