Bookmakers now make it 6/4 that the first bid to acquire a controlling stake of Manchester United will be accepted this year
Following the news that Manchester United are set to be taken off of the market by the Glazer family, bookmakers have now drifted odds for a takeover to happen of the club this year.
It's long been thought that the Glazers were going to sell Manchester United this year but reports in The Sun now say that the owners will take the club off the market after not finding a suitable bidder.
This has seen shares in the club fall at a record speed with Manchester United having its worst day on the stock market since it became a public company way back in 2012.
The latest odds from Smarkets suggest that there's now a 40% chance of the takeover happening this year despite those new reports saying it might be off the market now.
When will Manchester United's takeover happen? | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
2023 | 6/4 | 40.0% |
2024 or later | 2/5 | 71.4% |
