Lionel Messi now 13/8 to sign for Barcelona in the Summer transfer window
Lionel Messi has been backed into 13/8 with bookmakers to join Barcelona in the upcoming window with reports suggesting that he will leave PSG when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Sky Sports reported on Monday evening that manager Xavi is interested in signing the player for the club that he left surprisingly two years ago.
It's clear though that there will need to be a lot of change financially if the player was to re-sign for Barcelona with Messi's wages astronomical.
Paddy Power now keep Barcelona as the second favourite destination in the betting market but the odds have now shortened to 13/8 for it to happen.

Messi still favourite to join any side in the Saudi league next
The latest betting odds now say there's 54% chance of Messi moving to the Saudi League in the upcoming window with AFP suggesting back in May that a deal for him to go there was done.
Messi's long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi side Al-Nassr and the two could go back to facing off against each other again.
The odds of Messi moving to the Saudi league have changed drastically notably in the past month with his odds at 7/1 to move to the Saudi league back at the end of April.
Argentinian superstar also favourite for Ballon d'Or award
Messi is still the betting favourite to win the 2023 Ballon d'Or award with his odds keeping him at the top of the market ahead of Erling Haaland.
The Manchester City striker's odds have shortened massively throughout the season and it now looks like a two horse race between him and Messi for the trophy.
The award will be handed out in October this year with Karim Benzema the current holder of the Ballon d'Or.

Lionel Messi | 8/15 | 65.2% |
