  • Jesse Lingard 9/1 with bookmakers to sign for Newcastle in the January Window

  • Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe both 35/1 to sign for Newcastle by 3rd February

Jesse Lingard 9/1 to sign for Newcastle in the January Transfer Window

The career of Jesse Lingard is one that takes a while to ponder, with the Manchester United attacker going through stages of brilliance or simply not playing for his club.

Last January Lingard signed for West Ham on loan and it seemed to rejuvenate that career and help him get back in the thinking of Gareth Southgate for England.

Fast forward 12 months and Lingard is back at Man United and struggling for minutes.

Bookmakers are giving odds of 9/1 that Lingard signs for Newcastle in the January transfer window and this is something that could happen with the player's representatives being spotted at St James' Park.

Newcastle faced Tottenham on Super Sunday in a game in which Spurs eventually won 3-2, but one of the big talking points was why Jesse Lingard's reps were spotted in the crowd up in Newcastle.

Betting sites give a 10% probability that Lingard signs for Newcastle in January and becomes one of the early moves in the new Saudi regime at the North-East club.

With Jesse Lingard's representatives spotted in the crowd at St James' Park last weekend, the 9/1 price given by bookmakers for Lingard to sign for the club in January is extremely interesting.

James Tarkowski favourite to sign for Newcastle in January

James Tarkowski to Newcastle is a transfer that has been reported by journalists from the first day that the Toon takeover was completed.

The board and scouting staff at Newcastle clearly see something in the Tarkowski transfer and at odds of 6/5 to happen in the January window, bookies are expecting that it could happen too.

With a probability implied of 45.5%, betting odds suggest that it's not exactly nailed on but with the transfer kitty that Newcastle will have available next window, it's likely that it could happen.

Other transfer targets that feature low down in the market include Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, both who currently play for Barcelona.

Given Barcelona's dire financial situation which ended in superstar Lionel Messi leaving the club, it's fair to say that they could be looking to offload players to make money back on their reported debt of $1.5 BILLION.

To Sign For Newcastle Before 3rd February 2022
Odds
Probability
James Tarkowski 6/5 45.5%
Philippe Coutinho 6/1 14.3%
Ousmane Dembele 6/1 14.3%
Jesse Lingard 9/1 10%

Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe feature in market at 35/1

If Newcastle were to seriously splash the cash in the January Transfer Window then the high profile signings of Harry Kane or Kylian Mbappe may be the way to do so.

Harry Kane was famously trying to leave Tottenham in the Summer Transfer Window, with Manchester City reportedly bidding over £100m for the forward that was rejected.

Since then Kane has seemed to have let the saga affect his performances and he has struggled on the pitch.

A move to Newcastle in January could be on the cards if their owners were to mean business and spend their budget on signing Kane to make him the talisman that they have longed for since Alan Shearer was at the club.

Kylian Mbappe on the other hand is out of contract in the Summer and if PSG were to want big money for the forward with just 6 months remaining on his contract then Newcastle could be the team for him.

It's been high profile that the new Saudi owners at Newcastle are 'rich' and the money that they would be able to offer both PSG and Mbappe himself for wages could well entice the French wonderkid to head to the North-East of England and the Premier League.

At odds of 35/1 with bookies, a move for Harry Kane might not be on the cards for Newcastle but Kane could well be the talisman that the club and fans have been longing for since Alan Shearer retired.
