Jude Bellingham is now the 1/5 favourite to win the Golden Boy award after Taylor Swift drama
Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham has moved into 1/5 favourite with bookies for the Golden Boy award after kicking off his career in Madrid in style with match-winning performances already.
Talk has been popular around the Golden Boy after drama this week saw the Golden Boy Web award change drastically after Barcelona's Alejandro Balde answered a question around Taylor Swift.
Balde had 43% of votes on Tuttosport but dropped to just 15% after comments from Balde around Taylor Swift back in May had been dragged up by Swifties causing them to start voting.
One post from an account on X led to 8 million views and Swifties going to vote for Jude Bellingham instead of Balde therefore changing the online award right around.

Alejandro Balde did the seemingly unforgivable in an interview back in May when asked about Taylor Swift saying, "Do I like Taylor Swift? No, I don't like her music".
This comment was dragged up 4 months later and led to Swifties hijacking the voting with Bellingham's percentage share going from 30% up to 80%.
Bellingham has since gone down to a 49% share of the votes with Balde rising up to 24% but it looks like it may be too little too late for Balde's chances of the Golden Boy Web award.
When is the Golden Boy award handed out?
There is no official date set for the 2022 Golden Boy award but the list of nominations will be cut down to a 20 man shortlist in the coming weeks.
This then leads to a final list of candidates before the award is then handing out towards the end of October or evening going into November.
The 2022 Golden Boy award was handed to Barcelona midfielder Gavi on 21st October 2022 and it may be that we see it happen at some point around the same period.
Jude Bellingham was a finalist for the award last year and it may be that 12 months on that he finally wins it and becomes the Golden Boy.
