  • Frank Lampard is now one of the front runner's to be next Newcastle manager with bookmakers
  • Steve Bruce as short as 1/16 with some betting sites to be the next Premier League manager to leave
  • Bookmakers also have ex Dortmund manager Lucian Favre in the betting

Frank Lampard the current favourite to be the next Newcastle manager

Newcastle have new owners and they may have a new manager with reports suggesting that Steve Bruce will be sacked.

As always with the managerial markets on betting sites, the difference in prices changes on a day to day basis.

It's been interesting to see the different managers who have been being backed to be the next Newcastle manager, with the market currently making Frank Lampard the 4/1 front runner for the job.

Lampard is without a job since he was sacked as Chelsea manager back in January last year and it will have been difficult for him to see Chelsea then go on and win the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel with his squad.

Reports have suggested that Lampard is a leading candidate for the job, with his experience as Chelsea manager and earlier as Derby manager proving positive for the new Saudi owners at Newcastle.

Lampard showed his managerial nous as Derby manager with some great performances with a youthful team. Here's how the Next Newcastle manager betting odds look

Next Newcastle manager Odds Probability
Frank Lampard 4/1 20%
Lucien Favre 5/1 16.7%
Antonio Conte 7/1 12.5%
Roberto Martinez 7/1 12.5%
Steven Gerrard 9/1 10%

Steve Bruce expected to be relieved of his duties at Newcastle

Current Newcastle manager Steve Bruce is as short as 1/16 to be the next manager to be sacked in the Premier League, with bookmakers giving a 94.1% chance that Bruce is the next manager who goes.

Steve Bruce has had a turbulent spell as Newcastle manager to say the least, with fans voicing their discontent with the manager for as long as he's been at the club.

The cocktail of Bruce and previous owner Mike Ashley has seemed to leave a sour taste in the mouth for Toon fans and they'll be wanting to have a fresh start as soon as possible.

Reports coming out of Newcastle this week have suggested that Bruce was set to be sacked before the game this weekend against Tottenham, but the closer we're getting to the weekend still sees Bruce as the manager of Newcastle United and that doesn't look like changing as we near Sunday's fixture.

It may be that the new manager who is set to come in after Bruce doesn't quite fancy starting their life as Newcastle manager with a tricky fixture against Spurs, therefore leaving Bruce for one last send off in front of the Newcastle fans.

Steve Bruce is expected to leave Newcastle within the next 7 days, with bookmakers giving a 94.1% probability that he's the next manager to leave the Premier League.

Former Dortmund manager Lucien Favre another manager low in the betting

Lucien Favre went into favourite in the next Newcastle manager market with bookmakers at the start of the week, but it seems that interest has cooled on that side with Favre out to 5/1 to be the next manager of the Toon.

Favre was most recently manager of Borussia Dortmund, but was relieved of his duties in December of 2020 after a string of poor results.

Favre plays an exciting brand of football that Newcastle fans will love and is so well respected in the football universe that it's been no surprise that he's been linked with the vacant Newcastle job.

The fact that Newcastle are looking at managers who are currently free agents shows that their new owners are not looking at spending money on any sort of buy out or compensation package with another club for their manager.

Look at how Favre made Dortmund play while he managed the Bundesliga side:
