Patrick Mahomes is the betting favourite to win the Best Athlete award at the ESPYs

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the 4/6 favourite to win the Best Athlete award at this year's ESPYs for the first time in his career.

Mahomes was nominated previously for the Best Athlete ESPY back in 2019 but that year saw Giannis Antetokounmpo win and three years later Mahomes will be looking to go one better.

The latest odds from bookmakers put Mahomes as the clear favourite in the betting market to win this year ahead of Serbian Basketball star Nikola Jokic who is second in the odds.

William Hill's market then has Baseball player Aaron Judge and Football superstar Lionel Messi as the third and fourth favourites to wrap up the betting market.
