Beyonce set to take to the field during Houston Texans v Baltimore Ravens
Beyonce will play in her hometown of Houston, Texas for the Texans match against the Ravens on Christmas Day with the performance the first Christmas halftime show.
It's expected that a successful performance here by Beyonce will see this become a tradition similar to the Super Bowl Halftime show, especially with Netflix having the rights for the next three Christmas gamedays.
Netflix will air the NFL games on Christmas Day for next three years
The NFL announced that Netflix had signed a three-year deal for the rights to the Christmas Day NFL games worldwide with at least one game in 2025 and 2026.
Netflix has dipped into Live Streaming in recent months with the most recent high profile event being the massive fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.
The fight was plagued with buffering issues reported in the thousands but the service will be hoping to have that all ironed out ahead of Christmas Day.
“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more,” says Netflix Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria.
