Crimson Rambler was well beaten in his first four runs in novice races but improved markedly when moving into handicaps. Runner-up in his first three handicap starts in February, he got off the mark when stepped up to 8 furlongs at Southwell last Wednesday. He has a 6 lb penalty but can find more improvement and go in again.

He has only beaten two horses across three races so far, but all of those races have come over sprint distances. He finally steps up in trip today. He is related to all-weather winners Gliding Bay, Noble Lineage, and Regal Hawk, who won over a combination of distances between 1m and 1m4f.

Risk Averse Rebel is another long shot, as he has been at the back of the pack in all runs so far in C2, C3, and C4. With a drop to C6 today for this handicap debut, on a decent low opening mark he could be worth a chance EW 4P.

Her form has been less than impressive in her first three outings, but with a first-time visor and an increase in distance, she may surprise us. Trained by Clive Cox and ridden by Rob Hornby, this duo is quite formidable. As she embarks on her handicap debut, these notable adjustments could ignite a change. Making each-way betting appealing at 20/1.

Trainer Nikki Evans has had only one runner this month, and it was a winner. The stable is represented here by Resalah, whose best run came in a Class 4 novice stakes at Doncaster. She may have paid for that with a high official rating, but now thirteen pounds lower, she is given an outside chance here at big odds.
