This 4yo has 2 wins from 10 on turf and a few narrow defeats. He ran a nice race two weeks ago after returning from a seven-month break. He was a clear last of 13 runners after halfway. He had to come on the outside of all the runners to challenge and was only beaten 2L in the end. He should be better for the run. A strong jockey booking and being drawn in stall 1 for this 5f sprint is ideal if he breaks well.

This minimum trip is ideal, with two Newcastle wins over the distance in the last five runs. That is a stiff five, and this course should suit. Not beaten far into fourth at Southwell last time, showing that he is capable of winning off this mark. This is an open contest and looks the bet at the prices.

Drawn badly last time out. I'd be expecting a better run from Sergeant Mayer this time around. Good each-way chance on his second start this season.

Military Girl has been finishing the back end of the quartets and on the verge of a place in recent times. I think she will do better than this in a moderate line-up.

Plenty in with a chance in a tight, competitive handicap. First-time blinkers may aid Fuji Mountain to come out on top and provide his trainer with a much-needed win. The gelding beat only one home at Doncaster recently but should come on appreciably from that seasonal return. He didn't win in nine races last year but consequently runs today off a fifteen-pound lower mark than for his nursery success back in September 2024.
