5:17 Plumpton Tips

Seamus Mullins has struck form with a double on Saturday, and his 6-year-old has run three solid races in various trips leading up to this. She's a bigger price than I expected.

Eliza Dolittle won twice over two and a half miles last season at Plumpton and could have needed her first run of the season. She has run three times previously at this longer trip, and in April 2024, she only weakened on the run-in into 3rd place. She still looks well-weighted on a mark of 79; her two wins were off 76 and 77.

Backed her last time but just failed. She is a course and distance winner, so should be respected. Mark unchanged from last time and still nine pounds below last winning mark.

3m PTP winner in April, Princesse Milania, was stepped up 4f to 2m 4f last time out under rules but showed nothing. So, connections went straight for the wind op and up to 3m for champion jockey Sean Bowen's only ride. Must be worth a punt.

Kottayam was only beaten a head in a 3m point in May (good to yielding) this year, and the trip should not be an issue for the 5yo. Ran well twice in competitive races at Uttox in July and Sedgefield in September over shorter, both left-handed courses, which she seems to prefer. Ran without a tongue tie last time, and after going well for a long way, stopped and was eased to PU. Back on today, and with the rider's claim, is a stone lighter than when putting in the two good runs earlier this year.

Chelsea Annie is rated 93 and is ridden by Harriet Tucker for Mulholland here. She has shown me some promise on similar going, with 17 runs getting 2 wins and 3 places, and has been placed twice in her class from 6 starts. Last time out over 2m at Chepstow, she found little, but she handles soft ground well and can be effective if held up early and allowed to finish strongly. She remains an interesting each-way option at this mark for me, especially at high odds here. Likely to race off the pace and pick up late if the tempo is strong, she has an each-way chance.
