Had some fair form on the flat before showing promise on hurdles debut at Kempton a month ago and improved on that last time at Warwick when a staying on 4th. Moves into handicaps now from a reasonable looking mark and chances have to be respected.

Hill Station has, for the last four runs since July, been 2312 with the latest second only missing out by a nose, 8½L ahead of the next rival. Although up 3 lbs for that, I think he could bounce back with the winn in that last race going on to win twice since.

Good second at Uttoxeter last time out and gets another 2 pounds. But I think he can get his head in front in this race. Solid enough efforts in defeat and can take this class 5 event and get off the mark.

The Lydia Richards-trained Birthday Angel ended his Flat turf season in October with a win and a second-place finish, both over a mile and two furlongs at Brighton. The first was a comfortable win by a length and three-quarters over Kirkuila in early October off a mark of 52. The second, nine days later, came under a five lb penalty and was, if anything, even more impressive when he finished second behind Mc’ted. Birthday Angel is unexposed as a hurdler, as this will be only his fifth start over timber. He ran well on his debut when third of seven behind Touquet over today's C&D in October last year and has been eased four lbs in the weights since he started handicapping.

Gregorian's Star placed when last seen over hurdles in this grade at Kempton, and is five pounds lighter here. Found things far too hot on the return to hurdling last time out, but this looks much more suitable and there are each-way claims if that run (at the end of April) can be replicated. Still a maiden but might break the duck soon.
