Unexposed maiden who showed good improved form last time out at Newbury on handicap debut when coming runner-up. Can build on that.

I wasn't expecting to get anything like this sort of price for this C&D winner that has shown a liking for ground with some give in it. The bet is even stronger in my eyes because several in this will be found wanting for the stamina required, whereas this horse ticks all those boxes. The trainer is in form, and the jockey is the last one to win on her, so this has the look of a very solid E/W bet in this 9-runner field.

3rd, just a length off winning when returning from a 97-day break on just the third career run. Has two more lengths to find here, but the last run was at tough Goodwood, which would have boosted stamina. Was recently pulled out of another race when going off as favorite and could go off at a similar price here. Still progressive and has a good high draw.

Personal Best was given a short break of 7 weeks or so after the summer. She then ran a creditable fourth last month in a better race than this (Spirit of Jura ran badly), and the form of the Class 4 handicap race she won in June is working out well. Jonathan Portman's filly acts on soft and stays the trip, which may give her a stamina advantage over Brielle, who won over 10 furlongs at Ayr. 8/1 looks a fair price.

An interesting newcomer to British racing. She has a very good-looking pedigree and has run well twice in France, winning one over 1 mile 4 furlongs in May this year. Makes her debut on what looks like a good mark and could be the surprise runner in this race.
