Silver State showed little in a maiden over 6 furlongs and two over a mile, but showed big improvement on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last week when stepped up to 10 furlongs. He won easily there by 2.5 lengths. He is up 7 lbs, and the drop back to a mile is a slight concern, but this looks a weaker race and he can follow up.

Archangel Josepi came 7th by 14 lengths last time out at Southwell, 28 days ago. Down 2lbs from that and Brian Ellison yard has 50% RTF from 10 runners in last 14 days.

Got off the mark with a narrow success over 7 furlongs at Southwell in December. Finished a runner-up here, before 2 modest efforts at Southwell and Wolverhampton, but is now just 2 lbs above winning mark.

Crown Inn has hinted that a race like this is within reach, particularly in handicaps where he has travelled smoothly and finished within striking distance off similar marks. His previous efforts over this sort of trip suggest the distance suits, and he has run to a level that makes 72 look fair. If he builds on those runs and gets a clear shot at it late, he looks a solid value option to be right in the mix.
