The 5yo has been average on turf this year but is on a much reduced mark and this will be his first run this year on slow ground, with plenty of rain in the forecast. He went very close in his final two starts last year on soft ground, a class 2 and 3 handicap. Now running in a class 6 handicap and he has a 15lb lower mark.

Won at Hamilton back in September at a big price and done by a nose very recently here at Musselburgh by 'Thunderstorm Katie', who has to deal with a bigger hike in the weights. Should go well again for the same jockey who was involved in both races.

A higher draw is a must here, and Ganesha in stall 12 appeals at a good-looking 10/1. He handles the softer ground and ran well here in a better race off a higher mark on his penultimate start.

Was disappointing on latest outing at Redcar but did win over this course and distance in April and on penultimate start at Pontefract in September. Holds an each-way chance if finding that form today.

Laurens Dream (GB) is a 3-year-old filly by Advertise out of Festoso, trained by Michael & David Easterby and ridden by Lewis Chalkley. She runs off an official mark of 56 and comes here after finishing 7th at Redcar last time out, where she travelled well for a long way before fading late in testing conditions. That effort wasn’t without promise, and the switch to Musselburgh’s sharper 6f should suit her much better. She’s shown glimpses of ability this season, including a solid third at Ayr, and with Chalkley’s claim helping her weight, she looks well treated on this mark. If she can get out smartly and track the pace, Laurens Dream looks an each-way player in a race that should play more to her strengths.
