Ice In The Veins looks worth a proper look in the 14:35 at Kempton. He responded well to a more positive ride when dropped back in trip last time, showing a good attitude to win a novice hurdle here by half a length. That effort suggested he’s still improving. He’s effective over 2m??'2m4f on good ground and comes here after a short break, which shouldn’t be an issue. If the ground continues to dry, conditions look very much in his favour and this race should play to his strengths. He looks capable of being right in the mix again.

Graecia was a bit too keen last time but still finished in 2nd place. She has a win, three 2nds, and a 3rd place in her last five runs and should go close again.

Won on this card last year, beating a decent sort from the Skelton yard, Kadastral, in a bumper. Looks to be on a decent mark over hurdles, considering the close 2nd to Trustintimes and the 3rd at Cheltenham behind French Emperor on handicap debut. The last run at Huntingdon was disappointing, but the stable is in better form now and he is worth another chance.

Now handicapping for the astute Harry Derham, Filibustering provides some each-way value at 9/1 and is a prime candidate for progress. Freshened up and effective over 2 miles, his previous consistency suggests a bold bid is imminent.

There are a few early handicappers and in-form stables in here, so this isn't exactly a nap by anyone's standards. SAGE GREEN is still fairly new to handicapping and is showing some potential, so is given a look at this price, especially if coming on from the wind surgery. Four pounds lighter than when finishing close to the winner at Cheltenham in November.
