Keyboard has been placed 2nd in all three of his runs so far but gets six pounds from several previous winners here and could finally get his head in front where it matters.

Not sure Keyboard wants to win. Form is strong, but he's not completely straightforward, and at odds-on makes no appeal. Harry Dereham has won this for the last two years. BELAYA RIVER has improved on each of his three starts, culminating in a win at Catterick off an uncontested lead. He should get this again here, and at 9/4 with the trainer's record in the contest makes huge appeal.

The 4yo was a winner on his hurdle debut in November, with a decent yardstick in second that day. Trained at a good yard, improvement is very possible after a three-month break. He looks overpriced in this average-looking juvenile hurdle contest.

With seven runners, the first two places count. Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore train this very well-bred four-year-old bay gelding, who is by Wooded. Wooded was talented on the flat with a Group One win in France and is by Wootton Bassett. With a pedigree like this, he can be well at home on the flat. Storm The Dug was too fresh and keen at Musselburgh on his hurdling debut, and with that run hopefully taking the fizz out of him and knowing what is expected, his jockey Patrick Wadge can have him settled with hurdling well. That could see this youngster making hay here, with a turn of foot coming into use.
