6:15 Haydock Tips

After running over a mile and two furlongs the last two times out, Tim Easterby's C&D winner Leadenhall will be suited by dropping back to a mile here. He is also down to a mark of 78, off which he was only beaten a neck three starts ago.

YAASER could well have been deemed slightly unlucky two days ago at Musselburgh. After being slowly away, he was held up in the rear, and when he tried to make his move over one furlong out, he got short of room but stayed on really well to finish just under two lengths behind the winner in fourth. This evening's extra furlong will definitely suit.

Mysteryofthesands has had three wins since the break, with the last four runs reading 15101. The latest win in C4 was off a 75 and by a bigger margin than the win prior. Although up 4 lbs for the latest win, he has a handy 5 lbs claimer on top and could be thereabouts again.

NB each way bet to win here today or place at least. Ian Williams spoke boldly about him on Thursday, making him a contender today for each way bet, I think.

Has been knocking at the door recently, not quite finishing his races, but this sharp track might help. Tuck him up, plenty of cover, and switch wide for his final effort.

Four of Bajan Bandit's five wins have been over 7f rather than a mile, but he is very capable of staying this distance on good to firm going, especially as his mark is now only 74, six pounds below his last winning mark, and Warren Fentiman takes off a further five-pound allowance.

Lady of Arabia is a consistent and versatile performer with 6 wins and 6 placings from 24 starts. Running off a mark of 81 with a favorable stall draw 4 in a race forecast to have a weak pace, her proven tactical adaptability and past form in higher class races suggest she can be a danger if the race unfolds to suit. Top jockey on board and likes Haydock.

Joseph is a 3-year-old gelding trained by John Butler. He is 0-7, all on AW, posting a career-high RPR of 80. He makes his debut on turf today, which could be of interest given his dam, who only ran three times as a 2-year-old, 7-1-2, rated 102, having finished runner-up in a Group 3 at Leopardstown. He runs off a career-low handicap mark of 75 under Callum Shepherd, who has 15/77 wins at Haydock, £87.98.

A speculative chance is taken on Degale, who is still lightly raced with three runs so far. He has been off for a year, and his last race was on the 11th of August last year at Ripon, which he won. This is in a higher class and a tougher race, but he could provide a possible shock.

The Tim Easterby yard is in top form at present, and they saddle up three runners. That's My Boy Luke catches the eye, having won three runs back and was consistent in placing prior to that. Jason Hart gets the ride and may contest the finish.
