Asteverdi is worth another chance after a slightly disappointing run at Nottingham Racecourse last time out. She finished 7th, beaten 4¾L by the well-backed Principality in a 0-85 handicap, but the race may not have suited her. Those ridden prominently appeared disadvantaged, and she was unable to make her position count. Her previous run was much more encouraging, finishing 3rd in a fillies' handicap off a break, beaten 2¼L by Bellarchi, who has since progressed to a rating of 101. That form looks particularly strong in the context of this race. Last season, she also showed her effectiveness on softer ground, finishing 3rd in a Class 3 handicap over 1m on soft off 83, beaten only 1½L in a 0-90. She won a Class 4 handicap over 1m 4½f on soft ground in 2024 and has also placed on heavy ground over this course and distance at Goodwood Racecourse. Now dropped 2 lb to a mark of 76, with softer conditions likely and useful 3 lb claimer Mason Paetel booked, Asteverdi looks well treated and capable of bouncing back in this 0-80.

Has shown better form of late. Ran well when second recently at Salisbury. Is a consistent sort and this race looks weak, so a nice-looking price.
