Regional last won nearly two years ago in a 6f Group 1 at Haydock. He has been running consistently well exclusively in Group races over the last two years, mainly over 6f. However, he ran Asfoora close in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot over 5f in 2024 and ran a close 3rd to American Affair in the same race this year. So, he is no slouch over 5f, and he is tried in first-time blinkers.

Proven just as much as any horse in the field and has run to the same on these conditions as others, including Regional, who is favorite in the market. Simon and Ed Crisford love a winner here, 22 percent. They have sent it here after a strong showing in handicaps, including the run at Ascot. It looks to have as good of a chance as Regional and is the bet for me.

Will handle the trip well, 5f/6f. Performs well on G-F ground, and performance will be conditions dependent. Odds dictate First Instinct being a good value selection

Kerdos looks primed to strike, drawn low armed with blustering early pace, and proven at Listed level. Expect a sharp break and a wire to wire win on ground that plays to his strengths.

Trainer has won 3 of the last 5 runnings of this and certainly knows how to ready them. Regional has obvious claims, but Redorange has been coming on very well.

This is wide open if you take the favorite out of it (23 runs and headgear for the first time, so not sure to suit), and this 20/1 shot looks well worth some interest. The 4yo ran some of his best races around this time last year, including a win at Haydock where he was giving American Affair 10lb and a beating, which clearly stacks up really well in the context of this race. This horse has also been placed at Group level, which many of those ahead of him in the market haven't. I like the jockey switch too, who is something of a Beverley specialist with a 19% strike rate from a large sample of rides, which is hugely impressive.

This horse has decent course and distance form which is a major plus here. Has been lightly raced and open to plenty of improvement. Looks a decent each way proposition.

A speedy, Listed-winning grey mare (Ayr 5f) who's already proven here at this course and distance. She returns from a break with an ideal berth in stall 2. Last seen shaping respectably in a Dundalk Group 3, she's got the class and capability to hug the rail and chase all the way.

The Paul Midgley-trained Elegant Erin arrives on the back of some consistent form and has placed in five of the last six outings. Has been knocking on the door, narrowly beaten at Hamilton last time, and could surprise here at a big price.
