Arcland is a solid win choice. He’s a course winner who has been in excellent form recently, finishing second twice in his last three starts. The Gavin Cromwell-trained horse has a strong rating for this class and looks ready to get his head in front.

Sprinkles had 4 runs on the flat and three over hurdles last year. She showed a little promise, but this filly has improved a good deal in three runs this year, with a solid win over hurdles last time out. She switches back to the flat and off a lowly mark of 43, could turn out to be well handicapped, as her previous flat runs were over much shorter trips.

Bynx offers great each-way value at a longer price. She recently won over fences and her Flat form prior to that was very consistent. The mare’s handicap rating is favorable and she looks capable of running into a place.

Ballycommon Chapel showed a remarkable return to form in beating Takarengo over two miles at Tramore last time out in her only flat race this season. She had pulled up after weakening badly at Tipperary over 12f last season. A first-time tongue tie is tried, and seven-pound claimer Patrick McGettigan retains the ride off a mark of 46, up from a rock-bottom 40 last time.

Maxwell Smart is still a maiden after 17 runs. However he has gone close and was second over course and distance behind Arcland back in June. Each way contender.

4-year-old made Irish and stable debut in June, 3/8 as bf on last UK start. Seems to be improving with distance. Mark unchanged, in-form claimer takes off a useful 7lb.

Art Of Silence is a 7-year-old gelding trained by Gerard Keane. He is quite lightly raced for his age, with 2 wins out of 15, landing a bumper and a hurdle, posting RPR of 104-114. Transferring hurdles form to the flat often is on average -40, give or take a couple of pounds. So, I think 64-74 is achievable and runs off just 46 with Jack Kearney's 3lb. He hasn't run on the flat since September 23 and has posted an RPR of 66, so could be well handicapped. He does have an absence to overcome, but Art Of Silence, if fit and ready, could well eclipse the field before he's sent hurdling for a winter campaign.

Calmafterthestorm is 40/1 but looks an overlooked contender. She’s been running in better company and now finds herself in a weaker handicap with conditions that should suit. Her mark has eased, and with R Coakley booked, she could easily outrun these odds if finding a rhythm early. At 40/1, she’s worth a speculative win bet.

Makes stable today having returned to Ireland after having 4 runs for E. Bethell in the UK. Is down to a nice mark of 56 here, competent apprentice up taking off valuable 10lb and very shrewd trainer is best where with his 4yo plus last 5 seasons, making current 28/1 worth Ew consideration in the race.

Storm Eric looks a big price at 33/1 but has more of a chance than the market suggests. He’s raced in stronger company and now drops into a grade where he can be more competitive. The wide draw isn’t ideal but if he breaks well and finds cover, his stamina should see him staying on when others have cried enough. At the odds, he’s a realistic longshot worth siding with for win purposes.
