Of the twelve chase successes that the Willie Mullins-trained Galopin Des Champs has won, seven came at Leopardstown, including winning this race for the last three years. He has won a number of races when the going has been soft. So, if he is able to handle the underfoot conditions, he has every chance to win this race for a remarkable fourth time. He has won the three previous Irish Gold Cup races by at least four lengths. Galopin Des Champs is again ridden by Paul Townend in his final race before another run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

A cracking renewal and at the prices giving one last chance to last year's Cheltenham Gold Cup winner at the current odds. Ran two poor races this term that were too bad to be true. This should be run at a gallop and will suit. Small bet at the prices and it's double what they should be, but conscious Gavin Cromwell's aim is to get him tip-top for Cheltenham. Be surprised if he's not left a bit to work with with the rest objective in mind.

Decent chaser on his day who stepped up considerably on his return run when a staying-on fourth in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown. This will be another tough ask, but is simply too big a price to ignore.
