The 8-year-old is very smart and has age on his side. He has six wins over fences, four of those at Grade 1 level. Two of those wins came in the last ten months. He was beaten by just a short head in the Grade 1 King George on Boxing Day on good ground and is in good shape. He’ll be more suited by this very testing ground. Three very high RPR ratings from his last four runs are easily a match with the short-priced favourite Galopin. The selection could be a little overpriced.

Regarded as an exceptionally skilled and adaptable performer, he has recent evidence indicating that he excels around this trip. He demonstrated his endurance by clinching victory in the Grade 1 Dooley Insurance Champion Novice Chase last year at the Punchestown Festival, notably overcoming the highly esteemed Ballyburn. Under the guidance of Willie Mullins, who has remarked that while Cham Kiely may need to 'find a bit' to surpass the very best in the field, such as Galopin des Champs, he undoubtedly remains a top-tier contender at this trip and should be considered each-way at enticing odds of 40/1.
