About the Japanese J1 League
The Japanese J1 League does attract foreign interest with a few footballers in the latter stages of their career making the move there.
This goes back a while too, I am sure most are aware of when Gary Lineker made the move to Nagoya Grampus Eight in 1991.
Other notable players who have made the move there are Lukas Podolski and Toto Schillaci.
More recently this has been a place for Spanish players to head, these include Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Fernando Torres.
The season runs from late February / early March through December so there will be plenty of J1 League betting tips throughout the year from our football tipsters.
Their J1 predictions will come across multiple markets including full-time results, total goals, both teams to score plus plenty more.
During the off-season head over to the 'Football Betting Tips' page for tips from other leagues.
Using the J1 League Football Tips
There are a few ways of using the J1 League football tips. First of all, for each match scheduled the most tipped outcome will be highlighted.
The outcome can come from multiple markets and will be displayed with the number of tips for the prediction.
As well as the number of tips for the prediction, you can also see the total number on the market, giving you the percentage of tips for the outcome.
This is used along with the current odds to give you a five-star value rating. Another way is to click on the 'All Tips' option for each game.
This will result in the event page being shown, at the top you can see the most tipped outcome on the full-time market as well as the 'Best Tipsters Tip'.
The 'Best Tipsters Tip' is the tip from the tipster who has shown the most profit over the past twelve months.
You can view every market on this page too, meaning you can see how many tips each outcome has received as well as any comments left by our football tipsters.
To place a bet, you can use the 'Add to Betslip' option on any J1 League predictions you find.
This will add the pick to the OLBG Betslip where you can see which bookmaker is offering the best odds for the picks in your betslip.
Selecting that bookmaker will transfer the betslip across to their site where you can then place your bet.
Finally, if you are a fan of sports accumulators then be sure to have a look at our 'Accumulator Tips' page for daily bets.
J1 League Format and Past Winners
The Japanese J1 League was founded back in 1992 and is the top football league in Japan.
The league consists of eighteen clubs who play each other both home and away in a thirty-four-match season.
The league follows most European leagues with three points for a win and one for a draw.
The tiebreaker factors fall to goal difference, goals scored and then if still tied, head-to-head results and disciplinary points are considered.
The team finishing top automatically goes into next season's AFC Champions League group stages whilst the runner-up and third-placed teams go into the playoff round.
The team that wins the Emperor's Cup also qualify for the group stages of the AFC Champions League.
The bottom two teams are automatically relegated to the J2 League.
The team finishing third from the bottom has to play a one-off match against the J2 League playoff winners to decide which team features in the J1 league the following season.
