At the beginning of each season, the UEFA Super Cup takes place which features the winners of the previous season's Champions League winners and the Europa League winners.

It's a one-off match where the teams battle it out to get their hands on the UEFA Super Cup, the cup was first competed for in 1973 and was originally a two-legged match, Ajax defeated AC Milan 6-1 in the first final.

In 1998, the competition was switched to a one-off match, in recent years it has proved a very tight affair, between 2013 & 2019, five of the seven matches were all square at full-time and required extra time/penalties to decide the winner of the cup.
