The Grade I Carter Handicap is contested at the Aqueduct racetrack over a distance of seven furlongs, the race is open to runners aged three or older and is run on the dirt.
The inaugural running was in 1895 and it takes place in early April, the race in 1944 had a rare occurrence of having a triple dead-heat!
