Not many good-value hurdling opportunities as we head into summer, but SONYOURASTAR at 40/1 looks worth a chance in this maiden hurdle. From the in-form stable of Oisin Murphy, he has only raced once under Rules back in March (reached the frame in three Irish points prior to that). That was over 2m 4f where he raced mid-field for the most part before making eye-catching progress from 4f out, picking off rivals, but made a mistake at the second-last hurdle which effectively ruined his chances yet still managed to finish fourth. The three horses that finished in front of him have all gone on to win races, which gives a lot of substance to his efforts, and he will surely have learned a lot from that run. Sean Bowen rode him that day but has opted to ride the other Oisin Murphy horse and favourite, Lexington Wood. That may partly explain the big odds available. Promising claimer Lewis Saunders is a more than capable substitute and takes 5 lb off, which effectively equals out the RPR ratings. Big run expected!
