REMEMBERTHENAME has only raced twice over hurdles. He showed massive improvement last time, finishing a close-up 3rd over this course and distance 20 days ago. That race has produced 2 winners and one placed horse since from only eight runs, so the form is working out well (especially when he beat the next time out winner, Dramatic License, by over 10 lengths). Confident win bet.

Kasper Hauser did well on his debut hurdle run in July, finishing 4th, and then showed significant improvement to finish a close 2nd on his second attempt last time. That race was interesting as he had two of his rivals behind him that day. Still unexposed with further improvement likely, he rates the value pick in a weak race where only three have any reasonable experience over the sticks.

A tentative selection, ITS LIFE (401) has ran well on his two hurdle starts finishing close-up to the winner on both occasions. Today's odds-on favourite beat ITS LIFE by 11 lengths (and Manyana Blue by 9 lengths) last time out but Dignam carries a 7lb penalty for that win and ITS LIFE benefits additionally with competent claiming jockey, Jamie Brace, taking another 5lb off. It might not quite be enough to win but at 40/1, it would still be a decent place.

Western Clouds (4/7) looks a strong favourite judged on her win last time out and the lack of quality in this race. Second favourite, Final Straw (4/1) performed poorly on hurdle/racetrack debut back in June. Surely the fact he's a Henderson-trained horse accounts for the forecast odds. SOUL LIMBO (8/1) looks a great value each-way bet though. He would have been placed if not falling at the last on hurdle debut on good ground over 2 miles at Worcester back in May. That race has produced 4 winners and 5 placed efforts since then. Soul Limbo raced over the same course and distance in June, but the ground was softer and although jumping well and at the head of affairs for the most part, he faded in the last furlong. His two bumpers runs also confirm his dislike for any cut in the ground. He gets his favoured good ground conditions today. Uttoxeter is very similar to Worcester, so no concerns there, and in-form jockey and course specialist Rex Dingle takes the ride.

Jentobello is the odds-on favorite in the opener at Uttoxeter, but he's a risky proposition having refused to race on his only point-to-point attempt. The two races he's won recently were very mediocre small-field bumpers. For me, there are only really two horses with good hurdling form, and I'm siding with Reina Del Mar. A decent ex-flat horse, she seems to prefer the firmer ground judging by her exploits over hurdles so far. She carries a 7lb penalty for winning last time out, but that shouldn't be too much of a concern against today's rivals. Jockey Dave Noonan partnered her for that win employing front-running tactics, so he seems to know how to get the best out of her. Good things are obviously expected of this horse having been tried in a Listed event last December, and it's interesting, rather than concerning, she drops to 2 miles for the first time today. Breaking Cover is the biggest danger, and for that reason, this is an each-way bet.

TEQUILA TALKIN was returning from a mammoth break of 609 days when finishing 3rd of 18 runners in June. She finished ahead two of her market rivals, Sophia Rose and Hillhead Runner, that day. She is bound to have improved for that experience and looks the best horse in the race. Local trainer, Nolan, has a great record at Wexford. Still unexposed after only two runs, her ceiling could be anywhere. Confident win bet.

WASHPOOL ran well in both his hurdle starts last autumn. On debut, he was making late headway before a bad blunder ended his chances. A month later, he was beaten by two very smart horses into third (the winner has gone on to win a Grade 2), but finished ahead of the 6/4 favourite. That's the best form in this race in my opinion. The only negative is that he's been off the track for 282 days. Trainer Charlie Longsdon knows his stuff though and should have him primed, and David Bass rejoined him in the saddle.

At first glance, CAPTAIN COOL looks to be up against it here. He was beaten 17 lengths into 4th of 9 on his hurdle debut at the start of the month at Perth. That was a decent race and he ran and jumped well at the head of affairs before fading 3 out. Today's drop back to 2m 1f will be in his favour and he's worth an each-way bet.

MANYANA BLUE finished a respectable ten lengths third of eight last month on hurdle debut over this course and distance. Improvement is likely for that experience and his chances are bolstered by top jockey Sam Twiston-Davies taking the ride. He's in top form and has an excellent record at Newton Abbot. The 7lb allowance over his rivals is another bonus.
He only has four rivals. The three ahead of him in the market look average flat horses and they are all making their hurdle debut today, so I don't get how this race has been priced-up.
The outsider of the five, That's Life (40/1), also came third on hurdle debut last month but was beaten 16 lengths. His jumping was a bit novicey, but there is a line of form with MANYANA BLUE which indicates if he improves his jumping, he could spring a surprise.
I'm backing both with small each-way bets and might have a very small reverse forecast!

OK, this selection relies heavily on there being eight runners going to post for the three places!
There are only three horses here with very good hurdling form at this grade. There's not much between them so barring accidents, if JEFE TRIUNFO doesn't win, we'll get our money back if he places. It doesn't sound exciting but I like this type of bet.
