Well thought of, as he went off a 5/4 favourite on debut. Obviously, trainer Gordon Elliott is still getting to know the horse and could improve here into, at the very least, a place.

Dead-heated last time at Chelmsford but got stuck out wide in the early stages, which was not ideal. Turning in, he was still travelling nicely but got intimidated by the horse on the inside and drifted, then was joined on the line. I liked the way he travelled. I think his price would be a lot shorter, but he has a poor draw in 8. He does break well and can get across early. He might improve going the other way round.

Not a great deal separating the top two in the betting, and only a head difference when they met over 6f here at Newcastle in January. Court in Session is a tricky customer who likes to leave his challenge late, so can be open to problems in running. But this racecourse debutant is wide open, is dropping another lb, and Billy Loughnane on board are good positives.

Showed a good attitude when battling to victory as 8/11 favourite at Punchestown. Although it wasn't straightforward, that race looks like the form is very strong. Steps up in distance and on better ground, and the benefit of that debut run should prove too much for today's rivals.

Made a bad blunder 2 out when looking very threatening moving into the straight, and although he fought back for 2nd, it stopped his momentum. Stepping back up in trip and softening ground conditions are not a problem.

Despite finishing third in a race where Constitution Hill and New Lion fell, it left just three runners to battle out the finish in a different Fighting Fifth at Newcastle. Nemean Lion lost nothing in defeat on seasonal debut and ran on well from the last hurdle. That form is probably the best on offer in a weak Class 2.
