Grecian is lightly raced on AW, with only 2 starts and 1 place. Hasn't been the best of late but was entered into some high-class affairs. I think with some extra experience under the belt now, it has a good chance to make the frame. The jockey is 3-39 but Grecian has only run 10F 3 times, with 1 win and 1 place record. It's clear this is the distance suitable for them at this time. EW Bet.

I'm siding with the favorite. Has not won since moving yard at the end of 2024, but there have been some positive signs. I think this isn't a strong race, and if Sixpack can have the stamina to hold up at 2m, they will hopefully win. James Owens' yard won this last year.

Shabalko comes back after a 215-day break following wind surgery. If he comes back fresh, the Twiston-Davies duo could have a winner on their hands. Hovering at a 35% strike rate over the last 14 days is positive. I'm hopeful this lightly raced 5-year-old can come back winning.

Belaya is the highest rated horse in this race and was only beaten by a short head last month over this course and distance. Cheekpieces are being retained and should be able to get their first win. Shoemark is in the saddle with an 18.77% strike rate on AW in the last 12 months. I think Belaya should be able to win this field and so does the market.

Ghiani has a strike rate of 11.76% on AW and 13.64% here at Southwell. With 12 wins and 15 places out of 88 in the last 12 months, riding Addarella who finished 3rd out of 13 here at the end of September. With 4 places on offer, I'm hoping Addarella will still be in the frame today back in class 6.

I think now Inishfallen is a NR. Evening Saigon should be able to win this and could be value. Rossa Ryan on Mason is the biggest threat to me as they are at a competitive mark with a top jockey on board. Looked promising in the 3 runs back in 2024, but with a 418-day break, let's hope Saigon has come back ready.

I'm taking a chance on Petra Celera in the hope of a place. The stats don't look great. The trainer is 0-7 in the last 14 days, and Petra was last when out at Newcastle last month. But has a 15% strike rate on AW with 3 wins and 2 places from 19 starts. I think Clifford in the saddle is a positive, and with a good ride and a bit of luck, Petra could make the frame. Finished 6/14 last time here at the start of September.

I personally think this race is between Quarter and Only In Manila. The favorite, Magical Merlot, has more experience, so is probably rightly the favorite. But Quarter won here last month at 12/1, is now lower, but if Quarter can build on that run, they have a good chance of being in the top 2 today. I think this could be a value selection, although only 2 places are on offer.

Although well beaten in September when at Chantilly, that was this maiden's first run, and with a respectable 3rd there, I'm hoping Mia Lot can improve. It's positive to see Barzalona booked for the ride. I am taking E/W as 2YO can be unpredictable, but if Mia can settle, she has a good chance. EW NAP for me.

Could everything be aligning like last year? Burrows had Glittering Surf win at Kempton last year. Although Kingscote was the jockey, I think Burrows feels everything could be aligning for Moonlit Surf. Leavy isn't on fire at the moment but is a fine jockey with potential with this 2-year-old.

There's a reason this horse is currently the favourite in the market and has the opportunity to complete the hat-trick. Hopefully, Parisian can handle the quick turnaround, and with Oisin in the saddle, it has every opportunity. I have this as my NB.

There are a couple of interesting horses in this race. Tom on Melodic and Billy on Goodwood are probably the biggest threats to challenge for this win. Ray has a pretty consistent strike rate hovering around 17% on turf. I'm hoping he can edge Return To Unit home, expecting the turf to be soft and this horse fast enough to handle it.

The last three races have been either places or wins. The handicapper has only increased Mystical by 1 lb. It is still off a workable mark. Warren gives a claim to 5 lbs, reducing the weight. 5 places on offer, hopefully, is in the picture.

Arkenstaar has to be respected for current form. Unfortunately, Beasley isn't riding, and he has helped bring 3 wins out of the last 4 races. Kirrane is back in the saddle with only one previous run on this horse. Fallon being booked for Susie is a big risk, which is why I am backing Each Way. I don't think the recent form can be ignored, and he is only raised 3 lbs following his win last week. I think it should still be in the placing.

Again, I have won in the past with Newfangled. Rob Hornby retains the ride, and the stable is doing well. If he can get a good run in from his wide stall, it could be value each way.

I'm not the biggest fan of the mid-week low-class racing, but I'm going to take a chance again on Storm Esme as my NAP. You can ignore the jump to a Class 1 at Redcar as it was more of a chance in my view, but if you watch it, I don't think she was bad at all. Class 5 today should be easier.
