Have Falcon Fine in this race for E/W purposes but believe Etretat gets up and wins this. Easy enough to oppose the favorite here and is only getting punters backing it due to him only winning 4 on the AW over 7f. Berkshire Phantom had a good run LTO at Redcar but Etretat is the more accomplished distance runner here.

Weak affair this at Newcastle and it is very easy to make a small case for all of these horses, especially Etretat, who I think might top this. However, FALCON NINE may have something to say. Carries the second lowest weight around here and has Tabti in the saddle, so should run on well. Has placed multiple times on AW/Tapeta and I believe he's got a good chance of finishing in the places.

Back here over C&D is sure to help HALIPHON here as he's a previous C&D winner. His most recent two runs have been on the AW/Tapeta and ran as if it was his first day in the office when this is the second most experienced horse in this race age-wise behind Jamih. Carries a high weight, but this Ian Williams runner can get right in the mix and pose a big threat. Small E/W shout.

Interesting affair again for the first race at York. Not many of the runners have pedigrees up to 6f and further (obviously not eliminating the competition), but CALLING A STAR looked very promising recently here in a class 2 over C&D, finishing 4th of 6 but only 1 and 1/2 lengths behind. Should get a place at least here and may even go on to win this.

Very tight affair for the first race at Ascot today, but NEW MONARCH looks to be just edging it here with Oisin booked. Ran very well over an extended 6 back in June where he looked like he ran out of steam entering the final furlong. Will be better equipped this time around. Main challengers are Words of Truth ridden by Buick, who has been backed in a bit this morning. However, I still chance New Monarch pipping him at the line. GLIYF

Has enough to win this with Paul Mulrennan in the saddle. Dandy Style, C&D winner this month, winning comfortably and with only a 4lb rise, will make his presence known. Opposed to Flying Comet drawn widest of all, and Harry Davies takes the reins, so that's all that needs to be said really.

With 3 places available here, unless one withdraws, a small E/W shout with Zoumluzzi here draws my attention. This is an incredibly weak affair even for a class 6, but a run in a class 3 here for Easterbys' horse back in June really caught my eye. The going was the exact same and finished in a grouped finish with him just nicking 3rd. Struggled competing since and was behind Go Victor in the last race at Pontefract last time out over the same distance, but I think he'll leave that run behind and get involved again.

Going to be a bunched finish this, but I think Buick can get the edge over the challengers and reverse placings with A Bit of Spirit. TIME TO TURN has finished 2nd twice over 6f and won his 7f test at Wolverhampton recently. Reciprocated also runs in this challenging affair, but I think he'll get pipped on the line by Appleby's runner here.

My NAP of the day comes at the 6:10 at Yarmouth. One of the only horses in here that's shown any promise on soft ground, hence the price. Will be taken on by the favorite, but Bishop's Crown has just knocked on the door for a belated win. Two wins last year, one on good to soft over the same distance, should be enough to get the win here. Will be a tight affair with the top 4 in the market looking for an out.

Not going to make this my NAP of the day as I hate tipping favourites, especially when they are this short, but it is definitely the most nailed-on thing all day. If anything, I'm surprised he's not shorter. C T Keane gave him an absolutely shocking ride at Sandown 3 weeks ago, to no one's surprise, but he ran down Pacifica Pier to the line for a 1/2 length second. The booking of James Doyle is a much better appointment, and despite Catallus looking very strong, especially in the market and more importantly with Will Buick, PUBLISH should triumph here over the same course and distance as LTO. Catallus follows up in second for the silver medal.

Very interesting horse of Cowell at Sandown this afternoon, and at odds of 11/1, you can't miss this. Sure to be backed into shorter today, TOURIST poses a sure threat to the market favorites here. Won a race at Windsor last year in a Class 4 over 6f on good ground. On his reappearance after 8 months, won a Bath Class 4 off 2 pounds lower. Seems to have gone off the boil since with some bad performances in the same class races, but the booking of S De Sousa catches the eye. He hasn't had the greatest season so far, but something is bound to click again with the ex-champion jockey and Tourist here, who actually has form on the predicted going of good to soft today. E/W chance.

Easy to oppose the favorite ridden by Hector Crouch in this, as he has shown absolutely no reason as to why he should be this short-priced. So a chance is taken on ERBIL here. Half-brother to many winners, including Sky Defender, a proven 7f specialist. His family suggests that he might want a little further at a later stage, but this race shouldn't take much winning here, and he's the best-looking chance in a strange-looking Class 2 race. Expect a big run from Sunset on Leros to pick up second.

After an appalling day yesterday from me (sincere apologies), we start off with an interesting handicap at Doncaster. The top 3 in the market will interchange prices throughout the day, but COMMANDER'S INTENT should get the victory here. Starts off this morning at a price of 2/1 and is the only horse in the field with form on soft ground. I do think the going will end up good to soft by the race start, which won't be an issue here. Didn't seem he liked the ground too firm LTO at Newmarket but didn't finish far away. It will be a close affair, but I can just edge it to George Scott's horse, who poses a 23% win rate on the flat the last 7 days.

Only two places on offer here. However, I would feel seriously cold if I didn't tip SENORITA VEGA here at big odds for a place. Untested on further than 6f, and this could be a bit of a stretch for him. However, how easily he won a class 5 at Brighton this May was something to catch the eye. The first 3 have form over 7f, so it is very hard to oppose them. But this horse could be anything, and with Tom Eaves booked after his eye-catching run on The Childe of Hale yesterday, this could be a lot closer than people think.

Interesting 3rd race at Salisbury as the short-priced favourite is surely guaranteed another good showing. But Piazza is being discounted for the first time yet. Alongside Lope El Fuego, Piazza has had 2 runs and has shown hints of ability in his most recent run where he came from dead last to finish a close 3rd of 6 at Chepstow in a Class 4. He actually started as favourite in his two opening races and races off the same unchanged mark as his June run at Chepstow. Also, opening up at 5/1 for a horse of this calibre is too short for me to stay away from. Jason Watson also rides him again as he did at Chepstow, and I can assure you he'll be ready for this change in speed when finishing the final 2 furlongs with the speedy Piazza.

After a bad start this morning in the first and You Oughta Know got caught last race, a chance is taken on Lakefield Flyer here. He responded well to pressure after 9 months off LTO at Downpatrick. Hate tipping favorites constantly, but this horse just misses out on my NAP of the meeting. Pete Townsend pilots the Willie Mullins runner here, and as we know, these two are like bread and butter. Left his chase debut behind him when he finished 2 and 1/2 lengths behind Anyway at Kilbeggan back in June over the same going today. YOU OUGHTA KNOW should take up the running here and beat a very solid H De Bromhead horse in Le Coq Hardi. Would favor an easy 1-2 for the aforementioned with Townsend bringing home the title.

Tailgunner Joe is going to start off as favorite here off the back of him having his first run in a Class 1. But for me, he showed nothing special, finishing a remote 6th of 9 over this distance, so is easy to back against. Boy Named Sioux, like Tailgunner Joe, hasn't shown big promise in his 2 runs but ran a half-decent 3rd of 5 over 6f last month in a Class 4. He ran a lot better than his first at Beverley, where the pace was too quick and he could never get involved. Still early days yet, but he can get involved in a tussle for the lead on the final turn here over this new trip.

This race is a weak affair, and despite Boy Named Sioux (IMO) winning this race, a small each-way shout can be made for Madame Koko. Jason Hart takes the reins for this prospect filly on her debut. She is out of a 7f winner (91) dam, which is the only thing tilting me towards her. Jason Hart and John & Sean Quinn are often paired together, yet don't have the greatest record this season on the flat. Here's hoping for a turnaround in this weak event.

Nicely priced E/W shout here in BEAU JARDINE. Has raced a good few times here at Salisbury and finished second in a grouped finish over 6f on his penultimate start. This race is obviously over the extended 6f yet has shown promise again back in October last year where he finished a remote 4th of 13 on soft ground at Ascot in a class 4. A step down in class will help and he's definitely not finished with his attack on 7f races.

My NAP of the day comes early on at Wexford with the inexplicable Costanuci. This fella is an unbelievably strong finisher over hurdles and often has a lot in the tank over 2 miles and 4. This chase is over 2 miles, so it would usually be discounted. However, he finished 2nd in this race last year. He has only run 3 times since his most recent off, almost a year's absence, finishing 3 1/2 lengths behind the winner. Brian Hayes takes charge again like he did in this race last year. Costanuci isn't fussed ground-wise and can seriously cause havoc here. Expect a huge run.

My NAP of the day. Billy Loughnane takes the reins on Ballsgrove Boy here, who is a very clinical AW sprinter. Placing 3 times and a win at Kempton in May out of his last 5 runs is as consistent as you'd ever like. 6f trip is his trip and will make his presence known very early on. An unchanged mark, the booking of Loughnane, and the fact he finished 2nd here back in February with George Wood off 1lb lower is sure to be all that is required for a win.

Very small E/W punt here. Jake Loves Laura is being labelled by the bookies as a regressive maiden already solely due to the fact he's finished last on his last two attempts. However, this horse finished a decent 3rd at this course and distance back in May, where it was made clear that 6f was his trip in a strong finish. His last 2 runs have left a lot to be desired, but the 5f penultimate race was run way too quick for him, and by his turf record, it's clear he's not a fan. Very small E/W shout, but I think he gets in the mix if stall 1 helps.

My Cartmel NAP of the day. At Vimeiro ran his only race at Cartmel just under 2 months ago where he unseated R McLernon (rebooked again today) over the final fence where he would have been sure to finish comfortably in the top 3. Trained by Ben Haslam, At Vimeiro comes from a family used to running on the flat.
