Law Of Design

Law of Design is yet to score on the artificial surface but has only raced on it twice since moving to Ian Williams' yard. He was quietly supported last time and showed some improvement until meeting trouble in running. His mark has been eased a couple of pounds, and this is his first try in a Class 5, albeit a competitive one with plenty of dangers, not least in-form Panelli.

Oh So Perfect has shown improvement in her last two starts since switching to Mick Appleby's yard. She didn't get the rub of the green last time when meeting trouble in running at Wolverhampton. The official assessor has knocked a couple more pounds off, and connections step her up to seven furlongs this evening. Alastair Rawlinson gets a good tune out of her. Keep an eye on Savvi Row for the future.

There was a fair bit of confidence before Grey Force's run at Southwell three weeks ago. The Blue Point colt expended quite a bit of energy trying to get to front-running Mr Juggles, who won well next time out in the same class. Stepped up to seven furlongs, he shouldn't be written off yet. In-form Daniel Muscutt rides this evening.

Gallant last won over a mile for Andrew Balding. He is now with Oli Rix and showed plenty of pace until the last furlong over the intermediate sprint at Southwell in a £15k Class 3. The drop back to six furlongs and down in grade could well be worth a chance. Thurso is also dropping back in trip from seven to six and likes to rally late. Rob Hornby takes over the reins suggesting a could run is on the cards.

Molly Marine

Lose

A late foal and unraced as a juvenile, Molly Marine did not make her debut until last month. A market outsider at Kempton, she ran with promise, laying up with the field and lacking fitness in the last furlong. That was a class above this maiden, and she can build on that down a grade. Unionville is also race-fit and appears to be fulfilling his potential since switching yards, with a good second last time on his UK debut.

Foreseen

Foreseen is on an upward curve at the moment and has a willing attitude in a finish with a strong turn of foot. He was keen last time when winning over course and distance, but with a stronger pace likely in this race, he should have something to aim at.

Shallow

Shallow ran well after returning from a break at Wolverhampton when finishing runner-up to his stablemate. With more patient tactics, he should go well again off an unchanged mark. Sergeant Pep and Trouble Man can also be competitive in this company.

Society Man

Daily Racing

25 EWNAP

@+4000

Lose

-50

40/1 Society Man is not an easy horse to catch right and has had excuses for some poor runs in the past. But his win last October over 7 furlongs in a Class 4, rated 85, is his true running. Middleham Park are using the services of Tom Marquand, who is just back from a short stint in India. With the cheekpieces fitted, Society Man looks to be back on song today. Purest Time rates a big danger and is more like a 5/1 chance.

Advancing

Advancing was most unfortunate last time to lose the race at the start when badly inconvenienced. He was sent off at odds-on over 8.5 furlongs at Wolverhampton. He is only a four-year-old and can gain compensation whilst in progressive form.

Air Force One

Air Force One put up some very good performances last summer, most notably when a close third in a £120k York handicap over five furlongs off a handicap mark of 84. If he is anywhere near that form, he would have a part to play here in the type of big field in which he goes well.

Bonito Cavalo

Daily Racing

25 EW

@+1400

A worthy favourite, Pal Joey is a bit short at 5/2, and Faraway has been expensive to follow. A chance is given to outsider Bonito Cavalo. He had a few training setbacks in the autumn, but he has lots of course form and is well handicapped if rekindling his old form. Trip-switcher, Albegone, is worth keeping an eye on.

Lerwick

Daily Racing

25 EW

@+750

Lerwick was returning from a break of 40 days at Kempton last time after getting a bruised foot. He should be back to top form today, and with Luke Morris booked, the signs are positive. 15/2 is a generous price. Golden Strike could go well too in a first-time visor, having come down the weights.

Call Glory

Daily Racing

25 EW

@+1000

Lose

-50

Although Call Glory only won a classified race last time, albeit readily, he is on a very handy mark at the moment. He was rated 20 pounds higher when he was with Mick Appleby. Ian Williams has got him in good shape at the moment, and with a racing weight of 8-4, including the jockey's allowance, there is no reason why he should not be competitive up in grade. 10/1 looks a fair price. Bella Bisbee also offers a bit of value against the favourite.

Kameko Fever

Daily Racing

25 EW

@+1600

Lose

-50

Maria Da Silva has a good chance of winning this, but 13/8 is too short in a race of this nature and should be 2/1 or bigger. As an each-way alternative, Kameko Fever looks appealing at 16/1. The three-year-old Kameko colt has run well enough over 6 furlongs to qualify for a handicap mark. The step up to a mile is likely to be ideal. His sire won the Futurity Stakes over the course and distance, and that must augur well. Irish raider Pints In Peace is also an interesting runner.
