Lambourn trainer Mark Usher brings just the one runner to Bath this afternoon by way of Happy Happy for the Four Carrots syndicate. The filly runs out of the handicap with an official rating of 27. She was having her seasonal return a couple of weeks ago in a messy, heavy ground novice race at Windsor. Strike a line through that handicap qualifier. Her other two races were interrupted by set-backs. She makes her debut in handicap company and Tyler Heard can hopefully get an improved performance out of her. Son Of Astar for Tony Carroll is also of serious interest in current form and a handy mark.

Another Baar won by 4.25 lengths from Betweenthesticks at Ripon. The runner-up set the pace and could find no more at the finish. So possibly that distance was a bit flattering. That day the jockey claimed three pounds and today there is no weight allowance. He should win, but at 1/2, everything must go right. Pop Dancer has had excuses the last twice (outclassed yesterday, stumbled time before). He is on a fair mark at present and the three times course and distance winner has track experience on his side.
