He was going best and looked like the winner 2f out there and went on to finish 2nd. He drops 2f in trip here which should suit and he wont mind if the rain has got in the ground. He was an easy winner on soft on debut. He looks very well handicapped and a good each way bet

Happy to take the front of the market on here. Miss Rainbow improved for the visor last time but is up 2f in trip. Dods's horses are really struggling, so happy to oppose Kalganov too. Bird Of Play has run mainly on the all-weather since joining Liam Bailey, but he looks to be better on turf. His last run was a little more promising. The 3rd and 4th from that race won on next starts, so it may have been a decent race for the grade. He won off 68 a couple of seasons ago, and if the blinkers can spark him up, he's very well handicapped.

He was against a track bias there, so that run can be forgiven. The angle with this one is the record Mark Winn has when riding. He seems to go much better for this jockey and looks interesting here, a stone below his last winning mark.

Blue Collar Lad is a bit tricky but has won on the turf here and will have no problem with the softening ground. The interesting angle with him is first-time blinkers. He won when wearing cheekpieces for the first time. The cheekpieces were removed for 4 starts, and then he won again when they were reapplied. He also ran well in Jersey, finishing half a length second in a first-time visor. First-time blinkers could be the time to catch him, and he's very well handicapped.

That puts the emphasis more on stamina, which could possibly count against Desert Flower. The 4f longer trip here is an unknown, and she has to be opposed at the price. Whirl's win last time out at York may not have been the strongest of races, but visually it was very impressive. Looking there like the extra distance won't be a problem. She has form with a bit of cut, so any softening of the ground won't be an issue. She should go well.

This doesn't look like a strong race, and Abingworth has good recent form. The angle with him is that he is having his first run for James Owen.
