Balthamos looks value against the favorite in the opener at Wolverhampton. Three good runs in five races so far, most notably at Epsom when a half-length 2nd at 11/1 against a good sort. Could go well.

Following on from our Newcastle winner today, I like Tarmonbarry Kid in this one. In a similar way, this one has course and distance experience in this novice stakes, and the favorite looks very short and easy enough for me to oppose it.

The fancy prices have gone for this one, but I'm still keen. I think this could be the proverbial 'good thing' on handicap debut. 2nd at 80/1 LTO, to a 1/4 shot. Could be well in off bottom weight.

Win bet. I thought this one could be well handicapped of a mark of 105, obviously fitness has to be taken on trust, but if fit then this Mark put them there or thereabouts and double figure price is attractive.

7/1 looks generous for BE PATIENT. This one finished strongly on debut last time and is tried again over the same course and distance. The horse is entitled to come on for the debut run and has that course and distance experience, whereas the favorite does not.

MERANTI is worth taking a chance on. Went handicapping off a mark of 95, is now rated 76. His last run he was 4th of 15 off 78, so by no means a disaster. That was also over C and D. Seems a big price.

The price has collapsed a bit on this one, with my clients getting on at 18/1. TREACHEROUS is another course and distance winner I am backing. The CD win came off 72 three years ago. He's rated 65 today, and more recently, he did go in off 75 last December at Kempton over this distance.

This fella won here as a juvenile before going handicapping off a mark of 115 and winning on handicap debut. He went up to 118 and then tumbled down before winning twice off 97 and then back up again. However, he is back down to 100 for today's run and must surely be well handicapped.

Bit of an obvious one here. 11/2 is huge for a course and distance winner who is now 5 lbs lower than that victory. Different jumps today, of course, but I still think he can go well.
