4-year-old gelding sired by Sioux Nation ran a good 2nd last time out on good to firm ground over a mile. Similar ground today, albeit over 2 furlongs further. The same jockey takes 3lb off today, and I think this helps. Obviously, the jockey will know the horse better today. His last win came on good to firm ground back in July 2024, and he is now 5lb lower in the handicap. His time should be soon, and hopefully today.

He is starting to look well-handicapped, and I think he might enjoy the softer ground he encounters today. Breeding suggests he will go well on it, and hopefully, it will allow him to add to his one win on the all-weather.

8-year-old gelding sired by Gleneagles ran a good 2nd last time out over this distance. Maybe appreciating the further distance than he normally runs over. He was carrying 11 stone 13 lb that day and shoulders 12 stone today, so the weight is no problem. Same jockey, and this jockey has won on him before. Racing Post mentions the forecast rain possibly being a problem, but it doesn't look like there will be much, if any. Should run well with his handicap mark below his last winning mark.

5-year-old gelding sired by Havana Grey runs this course and distance well, being a two-time winner. He actually won this race last year off a mark of 83 with this jockey, who is his regular pilot. The case is obvious, and the price is fair, so I'll be having just a normal win bet, hoping he runs to form and gives us a decent go for our money.

7-year-old gelding sired by War Front seems to like it here at Lingfield. He has won over course and distance twice and is lower in the handicap than his last win. He does throw in the odd disappointing run as well, but the jockey is familiar with him, and I think he could go well at a price. Not particularly consistent, so I'll be going win only even though it's an each-way price.

4-year-old filly sired by Dandy Man has won a couple of times on turf over 5 furlongs and was tried over 6 furlongs last time out but couldn't make any progress in the final furlong. I think back at 5 furlongs from a decent draw will help her normal front-rank running style. She has run well here at Newcastle before, and I think she will go close on a surface that the breeding suggests she should do well on.

The jockey rides here well, so she will get plenty of assistance from the saddle and is also tongue-tied for the first time.

6 year old gelding Sired by New Approach is a frequent runner here and this jockey knows him well. He is some way below his last winning handicap mark. He has found some trouble in running in recent races and not always had the best passage in a race. I think with better luck in running he will go very close today. Just a case of getting away on terms and hopefully the jockey can do this for a trainer that is in decent form.

He does like the all-weather and has won here at Newcastle at this distance as well.
