The favourite looked very good at Ascot a week ago and will be difficult to beat if he has got over those exertions but Tony Montana could be a sporting each way bet to run him close. He has been running much better than his form figures look.

Lambourn looked slightly underwhelming last time out at York, but that was his first run for 2 months since winning the Irish Derby. It is typical of Aidan O'Brien to give his top horses a gradual build-up towards the latter part of the season, and I cannot understand why he is not favourite for this behind his stablemate.

This is a decent novice chase for the time of year and Waterford Whispers looks to have a good chance of getting his career back on track. He finished an excellent second in the Martin Pipe hurdle at the festival in 2024 and that race has thrown up many future star chasers. Things didn't pan out in his two runs last season but there was enough promise to think he can win this race.

There were excuses for his last run at Sandown also and if he can recapture his early season form he could be in the shake up here at a massive price.

Only a 2-horse bumper race, but the bookies look to have got the betting the wrong way around to me. The form of the favorite isn't as good as that of Fairlawn Skipper, despite what is being said in the racing publications, and his breeding is much stronger. There is also a worry about the favorite with him having had a wind operation and tongue tie fitted, which in my view is never a great sign so early in a horse's career. The 9 lb weight concession is partly offset by Shane Fenelon's 5 lb claim, and he is a more than capable jockey.

I've been following the progress of Mini Mario since his first run in a bumper, mainly due to his lovely pedigree. He is by Blue Bresil and out of a Beneficial mare who is closely related to the same trainers Grade 2 winning mare Marias Benefit. He has shown a few signs that the ability is in there, and at his price today he is worth a small interest.

An open looking bumper, but I'm prepared to give Mysilverriverfeale another chance after a promising run when finishing 5th in a decent looking bumper first time out. She has got to turn around the form with Miss Jocund who finished third in that race, but with her lovely pedigree, I think she has the more scope for improvement. She comes from the Denman family and is closely related to the very talented Regents Stroll. Jockey A P Ryan has been having winners for the Andrew Slattery yard in recent weeks.

Bedtime Story's last run can be ignored as it was a flag start and she was very slowly away behind stablemate Whirl. That race looked like a prep race for this, and it wouldn't be the first time Aiden O'Brien has used a group race to do that, especially as he won the race anyway with the stablemate.

Red Oak's form figures don't look that inspiring, but there is a lot more there than meets the eye. He was 7th at Galway last time, but only beaten about 9 lengths in a race that is beginning to look pretty decent. He was only 3 lengths behind the 4th, Parnell Street, in that race, and he bolted up at Killarney last night. He has a nice-looking pedigree, being closely related to the talented graded winners JPR One and Deep Cave. Sellerna Bay looks like the obvious danger, but he could 'bounce' having a run only a couple of weeks ago after running well last time after a long layoff.

Parnell Street ran a very promising race at the Galway festival in what looks like a competitive bumper, and he should go close in this race. His trainer, Andrew Slattery, has been in fantastic form in bumpers in recent weeks. He has a nice pedigree, especially on the dam side where there are numerous winners, even going as far back to the brilliant multiple champion hurdle winner See You Then.

Mr Master Mac did us a nice favour when finishing third first time out at a big price at Roscommon a few weeks ago and with normal improvement, he could go close to winning this race. He has got a great looking pedigree, being by Blue Bresil and out of an Oscar mare, who is closely related to the high class Marias Benefit. John Gleeson on top is a massive plus.

It is never easy for a bumper horse to carry a penalty but Way Maker was so impressive on his first outing, he can win again for Mickey Bowen, who is going well with his bumper runners since taking over the license from his father. He wasn't that expensive originally but it is interesting that he is now part owned by Harry Redknapp and this very well bred sort should be able to follow up.

Something Fabulous travelled really nicely at Galway a couple of weeks ago before being hampered, when making a promising run, and being eased off before finishing back in 9th. She had previously shown good form in an Irish point-to-point and is nicely bred being closely related to a number of very good horses including Waiting Patiently and McFabulous. She could improve to be in the shake up.

Pearla looks like the obvious one but she has been beaten twice when well fancied both times and El Megeeth looks to be a good alternative. Owen Burrows continues in fine form with a 50% recent strike rate. El Megeeth improved markedly on her 2nd run and being by Ghaiyyath who's horses have a 35% strike rate when running over 12 furlongs, she will be suited by this trip.
